Moriko Kobayashi (小林守子 Kobayashi Moriko), also known as the Divine Fox Hero: Kitsune (神狐英雄きつね Kami Kitsune Hīrō Kitsune), is a student in class Class 1-A at U.A. High School and training to become a Pro Hero.

Moriko is a short girl of slender yet feminine build. She has bright ginger hair which she ties in two low ponytails. Her eyes are large and green, with rather thick upper eyelashes, three longer and more prominent ones protruding outwards on either side and fewer but more individually pronounced lower eyelashes. There are also freckles on the cheeks and shoulders. Her canine teeth are noted to be very pointed and fang-like, making her smile appear rather fox-like.

During school hours, she wears the standard female uniform which consists of a gray blazer with blue-green stripes, a formal white shirt, red tie, blue-green pleated skirt, black knee socks but unlike others she wear black sneakers.

Her hero costume consists of an an orange bodysuit ending just above the knees and decorated with white fur. The ends on the sleeves are black. On her chest she has white soft fur imitating a fox’s breast, which goes into a stripe in the middle that stretches all the way, high black boots with lilac sole and black gloves with claws, capable of changing their length. She also wears an orange-white mask on her face and hairpins in the form of fox ears on her head. Often on her feet she puts on engines in the form of small rings, which allow her to develop incredible speed when running.

During the winter months, she wears a wears a knee-length yellow cloak with white fur on the collars and on the end over her suit.

Moriko's exciting personality.

Moriko has bright personality, always on the positive side and smiling girl who tries to see the good in everything. Sometimes she seems impulsive, behaves like a child and often acts on the principle of "first do, then think", but, nevertheless, it can also be innocent. Moriko is the type of person who never gives up. She is ready to stand and fight alongside people close to her and, if necessary, sacrifice her life. One of the reasons for wanting to become a Hero is not only to save people, but also to be a good example that this very hero can be not only relying on a quirk, but also on their own strength.

She easily makes new friends with whom she is ready to chat all day long. Sometimes it even seems that this person never stops talking. But in serious situations, she behaves quite restrained, tries to think about the situation. When she is not in the circle of her friends, she behaves a little more calmly than usual.

Moriko has a good sense of humor. She often jokes but tries not to go beyond the boundaries of what is allowed. However, there are times when she can offend someone with her jokes, and then she has to apologize and ask for forgiveness.

Moriko is embarrased for being called short.

Moriko has a bit of a complex about her height and therefore wears high-soled shoes to appear taller. She gets embarrasing everytime when people called her short.

The disadvantages of Moriko can be attributed to vindictiveness. She never forgets a grudge and, if possible, tries to take revenge. Moriko understands that such an act is far from Heroic, so she tries her best to get rid of the lack, but it takes a long time to get out. She is also quite naive, because she believes that a person can already be considered a friend if they have spoken just a couple of phrases.

Sometimes Moriko may seem distracted, may lose things, and then finds them in front of her nose. So she lost her phone one day, and then realized that she had been holding it in her hand the whole time.

Moriko is a big lover of sleep, especially in the morning, because she always starts at least 6 alarm clocks, so as not to oversleep and not be late for classes.

In a fit of anger and rage, Moriko does not watch her tongue and is able to say and do a lot of bad things, such as getting into a fight. This is especially evident with Katsuki Bakugo, who sometimes can say something sharp in her direction, which makes Moriko mad, and they start a fight. The last such fight ended with Katsuki breaking to her lip and Moriko knocking out a couple of his teeth.

She has a weakness for everything cute, especially plush toys, which she simply adores. She also collect anime figurines because she thinks they are really fun. Her second obsession is romantic manga and stories.

Moriko has a huge crush on Fumikage Tokoyami, but does not dare to tell him about her feelings, as she is sure that they will be unrequited.

Overall Abilities: At first glance, it seems that Moriko does not have any abilities, but the girl has proven to be a highly capable individual. Serious training on her body before entering to the U.A made Moriko one of the strongest girls in the class. In hand-to-hand combat or sparring, she has practically no equal. Also, her body is quite flexible and in good shape, although from the outside it is not so noticeable. In battle, Moriko relies solely on physical attack, and uses a quirk as a distraction or traps.

With her abilities, Moriko managed to attract the attention of Mirko, the No. 5 hero. She invited Moriko to her inter under her tutelage, where throughout the internship Moriko not only guided the cities and participated in some small skirmishes with villains, but she also worked on her physical form and quirk. According to Miruko, she noticed Moriko at the Sport festival and said that she performed well and that she just barely had enough to win.

Tactical Intellect: Moriko has a strategic mind that is capable of deducing an enemy's weaknesses and combat style soon after the battle begins. This knowledge helped her on Final exam where she and Shoji fought against Hound Dog where she managed to trap him, using her quirk to deceive not only his eyes, but also his nose, which clearly and well perceives various smells.

Martial arts: Moriko is quite good at hand-to-hand combat and some martial arts. She has developed her own fighting style, which includes frequent attacks with her hands and various acrobatic and dance moves.

Cooking skills: Moriko is really skilled at cooking. Especially incredibly good her Kyaraben.

Quirk

Moriko using her quirk during the training.

Illusions (幻想, Gensō): Moriko is able to influence reality by changing its time and space, creating various illusions for a short period of time. She reproduces the images invented in her head by active gesticulation of her hands, as if “conjuring”. At these moments, her hands glow in purple. The duration and density of illusions depends on their size and complexity: the more and more detailed the created objects, the less their density and duration, and vice versa. Complex illusions can be destroyed with a single touch, while small, like clones created by Moriko, need to be hit with the force of 2 times. The radius of the quirk is about 20 m. Anyone accidentally caught in this radius becomes a hostage to the illusion.

Moriko's quirk limit is a maximum of 15-20 minutes. If she exceeds it, then she begins to have severe headaches, migraines, there is even the possibility of losing consciousness or falling into a coma, because control completely depends on her brain activity. Often, when a quirk almost reaches its limit, blood starts to flow from her nose. To recover, she just needs to get a good night's sleep.

After an internship with Mirko, Moriko developed the radius of her quirks, while increasing their duration and density.

Super Moves

Mirror cloning (ミラークローニング, Mirākurōningu): Moriko creates one or two of his illusionary clones, which are the first to attack the villain, and the real Moriko waits for the right moment and attacks.

Through the looking glass (見ているガラスを通して , Mite iru garasu o tōshite): Moriko plunges her opponent into an illusion. This move used to both distract attention and surprise attacks.

Mask: Mainly serves as a decoration and, more less, hiding the individual from civilians.

Ears: Also serve as nothing more than decoration. Moriko wears them to look more like an image of a "fox".

Clawed Gloves: The gloves have built-in claws that can be extended if necessary. It's made of special dense metal, which can cut materials such as wood, machinery and not very thick concrete. Also using these gloves, Moriko can climb walls.

Boots: It may not be noticeable, but Moriko’s boots have built-in engines that allow her to move at a fairly fast speed.

Battles & Events

  • Moriko's earliest design was radically different from her current one. It was a vicious and paranoid girl who went crazy from any contact with a person. But this idea was thrown aside, because it did not correspond to the status of a person who wants a hero and an example for everyone. That is why the character of Moriko was completely changeable in a good, responsive and bright way.
    • Moriko's given name contains the kanji for "defence" (守), "child" (子). Moriko's family name means "small" (小) and "forest" (林).

Childhood

Moriko grew up in a shelter. Absolutely nothing is known about her biological parents. The girl was found in a box near the doors of the shelter when she was a little over 2 weeks old. Her childhood was pretty ordinary. The girl grew up cheerful and mischievous, loving to make new friends and spend time with them. Both carers and other children treated Moriko with warmth, because she likewise treated others. Of course, it couldn't do without incidents. Like all the children, she was naughty and could even fight with someone, but almost immediately put up with the offenders.

Like most children, Moriko's quirk appeared when the girl was 4-5 years old. It was a very hot day, and the girl insanely wanted ice cream. And to her surprise, a large portion of strawberry ice cream appeared right in front of her, which immediately disappeared when Moriko touched it. It was on that day that Moriko got her quirk of "Illusions" - the ability to create everything that she wants. But without a physical shell. The carers were glad that one of their wards got a quirk, but they didn't know what would happen next. That very night they were struck by a huge number of blue butterflies flying around the shelter. As it turned out later, it was also Moriko’s quirk, which activated when the girl fell asleep. But in addition to fairy tales, the girl could have nightmares, but, fortunately for the teachers, this didn't happen so often.

Moriko received the desire to become a hero immediately after she saw All Might on TV. This hero made an unprecedented impression on the girl, and she was fired up with the desire to become a hero. At first, the children laughed at her, believing that it was impossible to do this with such a quirk as illusions. Most of the popular heroes at that time possessed mainly a power quirk, or one that somehow increased or improved the physical condition of the hero. Moriko didn't have that. This alignment drove the girl into longing. However, she did not give up and decided that she would definitely become a hero.

Adoption

When Moriko was 8 years old, a young couple of Mizuki and Akira Kobayashi decided to adopt a child. Earlier, they had a tragedy: their own child died of tuberculosis, and again they couldn't have a child, so they decided to take the child to an orphanage. They came across a cheerful and energetic 8-year-old girl with bright ginger hair, large green eyes and cheeks dotted with freckles. They literally immediately fell in love with the girl and decided to adopt her. Moriko was happy, because she had dreamed all her life about a loving family and now she received it.

A few days later, all documents were signed, and Moriko became a new member of the Kobayashi family. Her new parents were very kind and loving. Mizuki, mother, worked as a journalist in one of the popular agencies where she published her own magazine. Women have a quirk "invisibility" that allowed her to partially or fully make hermself invisible, so that she managed to get into the thick of interesting events and no one would have never even noticed. And father, Akira, was an incredibly cheerful and friendly man, whom he adored his adoptive daughter and tried in every possible way to indulge, buying her toys and sweets. He worked with his wife and was a photographer. His quirk of “elasticity” allowed him to stretch his body by almost 20 meters! Also, that all of his photos for the magazine were the best. The couple wholeheartedly loved their new family member. The tragedy with their own daughter, Fumiko, may have been incredibly painful, but they did not want their new daughter to become a replacement. They devoted all their free time to her and did not refuse anything. Moriko did not ask for anything so special, but only wanted to be loved and always always been together.

Mizuki and Akira were incredibly astounded when they saw Moriko's quirk. So unusual and beautiful. And when Moriko said she wanted to become a hero, they supported her and said that she would succeed. You only need to believe in yourself, and they will be there and support at any moment. On their very first night, they also learned how the quirk of their new child was manifesting. Sunflowers blossomed in the living room, and butterflies flew nearby and small birds sang. All this disappeared as soon as Akira touched one of the flowers. They were impressed, but they didn’t attach any particular importance to it, considering it to be quite unusual, but decided not to show scary films to Moriko so as not to injure their own and the psyche of the child.

Tragedy

Moriko lived happily in a new family for six months, not knowing the troubles and sadness. And this time she went to a new school, made friends, in general, lived for her pleasure. But everything changed literally in one day. Moriko then watched the photo album that she stumbled upon. She just became curious. And when she came across one picture with a girl, about her age, she went to her mother and asked who it was. Mizuki answered with mild sadness that it was her and Akira's daughter Fumiko, who died of tuberculosis almost a year ago. Moriko was a little surprised at this turn of events, but decided not to disturb her mother with even greater questioning, since at her age she knew what death is and how painful it can sometimes be to people who have lost a loved one. That same night, Moriko, overwhelmed with emotions and impressions from such news, saw in her dreams the same girl from the photo. The quirk was activated again, and the girl’s dream entered reality. But only at this very moment her parents were in the living room. Right in front of them came the image of their deceased daughter, Fumiko. The girl stood and smiled at them. Akira was in a stupor, but he immediately realized that this was just an illusion, not their daughter. But Mizuki took it a different way. The poor woman has not yet been able to recover from the loss of her daughter. She did not even realize that this was just an illusion created by Moriko. The image of Fumiko disappeared as soon as the woman touched her. At that moment, her psychological state was shaken. Old Mizuki Kobayashi disappeared forever.

Mizuki became obsessed with forcing her adopted daughter to review photos from Fumiko again and again using any excuses or motives. She was eager to see her own daughter again, just not seeing and not realizing that this was just an illusion. Akira tried to convince his wife to stop tormenting herself and Moriko. Fumiko died and this cannot be changed, but Mizuki did not listen. For several weeks, when Moriko went to bed, she again and again saw in the dream that little girl from the photographs, and Mizuki was happy, because she could see her own daughter again. However, this could not last long. After all, Moriko was not stupid and clearly saw that her mother had changed and now uses her only for her own sake. At first, she simply refused, referring to different circumstances, she was tired by type or she needed to do her homework. But then Moriko began to speak directly about her refusal. Mizuki and Moriko started arguing and cursing because of this, but fortunately Akira intervened in time for his adopted daughter, for he saw how much Mizuki had changed.

The last straw was Mizuki’s almost physical punishment over Moriko, when a woman hit her in the face, and then again and again. Akira managed in time and then announced that he could no longer live like that, so tomorrow he would leave and file for divorce, and Moriko would take with him and would do everything possible so that Mizuki could not get close to the girl even a mile away. At that moment, something seemed to click in Mizuki's head. The woman grabbed a knife and attacked Moriko. The girl managed to dodge the first blow, but Akira saved her from the second, pushing the girl aside. A knife pierced his neck and, and death came instantly. Mizuki screamed in horror, and Moriko only froze in silent shock, unable to move, looking at her father's body. The neighbors ran to the screams and immediately called the police and heroes. Mizuki was immediately arrested, and Moriko was taken away by the guardianship authorities and returned to the shelter. At the trial, Mizuki was recognized insane and sent to a psychological clinic for treatment, from where she would never be able to leave.

Begining of trainings

The tragedy experienced in the Kobayashi's family left scars in Moriko’s soul. For several years she visited a psychologist to recover from the shock experienced. Fortunately, the girl began to recover. She then turned 12. During this time, no family has ever adopted a girl, because the tragedy that happened to her did not give rest to anyone.

Despite the grief experienced, Moriko practically did not change in character and continued to remain as kind and cheerful, trying to see something good in everything. Even the fact that she might never be adopted again didn’t hurt her. Of course, there were times when she could cry because she did not dare to pick her up again, but soon she recovered and continued to live as before. At that time, her goal was also the desire to become a hero. Only now has this goal become more significant. Moriko decided to become exactly that hero who can become an example for the rest. Even though there is a quirk that does not affect the increase in your physical strength, this does not mean that you should not at least try. Moriko began to look for a coach in order to improve her physical data. Luckily for her, she was very close to a physical education teacher from her elementary school, and he gladly agreed to train the girl. At one time, he had heard about how difficult the entrance exams to heroic faculties are, so he trained Moriko very seriously. He believed in her and knew that she would become a good hero.

However, 8 months later, Moriko's coach had to move to the other end of the country, which meant that he would no longer be able to train his ward. But the man decided to draw up a training plan that everyone should perform Moriko, with rest and a break, of course. Having handed over this list of affairs to the girl, he left her forever. Moriko remained grateful to him and even now continues to follow this training plan, which the teacher left her.

Psychological trauma

After 2 and a half years, Moriko, already fully recovering from psychological shock, continued to live and study, as if nothing had happened. She confidently prepared for admission to the U.A. High School, which, according to the majority, was the best and best option for those who dream of becoming a hero. In addition to the heroic faculty, there are others there, but Moriko tried to get into the faculty of heroes, so she studied very hard, and trained even more seriously, developing good physical strength and speed.

However, a few days later she stumbled upon a photograph where she was with her adoptive family. Her childhood memories and the tragedy that happened to her immediately surged upon her. Unexpectedly for herself, she decides to meet with her adoptive mother Mizuki in a psychological clinic in order to talk and discuss what happened. In the depths, she hoped that they could come to a common compromise and become a family again, but the cruel reality broke her pink glasses. The meeting was terrible. Mizuki screamed, accusing Moriko that she was sitting here because of her and that Akira was dead. Mizuki cursed and wished a long and painful death for Moriko. The orderlies arrived in time for the distraught woman and took her to another ward.

Moriko’s psychological state was destroyed that day. As a result of a strong psychological shock caused by such a brutal reaction and criticism of Mizuki towards the girl, Moriko's perception of the world around her was distorted. Her quirk also contributed to this, which by then had been developed at a very high level. Without realizing it, Moriko began to create images of her adoptive parents and believe that they happily live together in a shelter. The worst thing was that absolutely everyone saw the images of her former family. Children from the shelter began to shun the girl, considering it abnormal, and younger ones even began to be afraid of her. They heard about what happened to Moriko, but they could not even think that everything would turn out like this now. But no one dared to do anything. Even the teachers, who did not cherish souls in their beloved ward, turned away from her. Just for one, Moriko became an outcast, a mentally ill child, from which everyone should stay away. Worst of all, people saw the reason, knew that it could be helped, but no one dared to do anything. The director of the shelter acted in the most terrible way possible - he simply kicked the girl out, but before that he gave her one of the apartments, which she should have got after she came of age. He even agreed to pay for her, send Moriko money, if only she would quickly get out of the shelter once and for all.

Moriko moved to the apartment that the director gave her and began to live with her “parents”, without realizing that they were just illusions. Every month she received the money that the director of the shelter sent her, but Moriko thought that this is how her parents get paid from work. As for the neighbors, they did not even realize that the people who live with Moriko are not real. No one ever fit into the personal life of others, but lived for themselves. At school, Moriko said that she again started a family, and many felt that she had adopted. Moriko did not talk too much about her parents, because her classmates did not even know what was hiding behind the doors of Moriko’s house. This went on for six months until Moriko graduated from middle school.

Entrance Exam Arc

Moriko goes to U.A. High School to participate in the U.A. Entrance Exams. Firstly, she listens intently about how the Entrance Exam works. During the practical exam, Moriko gets pretty enough of points, both for destroying the villain bots and helping other participants.

Moriko patiently waits to receive the results from U.A., until finally she receives a hologram from the Principal Nezu informing him that she has been admitted to the Hero School, which makes her really happy and she even started to cry of happiness.

Quirk Apprehension Test Arc

Moriko appears alongside the rest of Class 1-A on the first day of the term. Shortly after the start of class, Class 1-A is brought to the exercise grounds by their homeroom teacher: Shota Aizawa. He informs the class that they must all undertake a Quirk Apprehension Test and whoever comes in last place will be expelled immediately.

When Moriko takes part in the 50-meter dash, she races against Eijiro Kirishima. Eventually she places ninth overall in the class. When Shota reveals that no one is going home and that threat was just a logical deception. Moriko and most of the students are shocked by this revelation. Moriko is then seen discussing with the rest of the class about the kind of man Shota Aizawa is.

During the lunch break in a cafeteria, in search of a place to sit down, Moriko bumps into her classmate Fumikage Tokoyami, and all the food from her tray falls on him. Moriko, horrified, apologizes and offers to take off his uniform to take a wash, but Fumikage assures that everything is fine. At that moment, Moriko falls in love with him at first sight.

When Izuku returns to class from the nurse's office, Moriko introduces herself to him as "Mori". She along with Ochako and Mina Ashido are seen together watching Izuku and Katsuki talking outside of school. She and Mina waited to see if a fight would start or no, which eventually ended with Katsuki just leaving.

Battle Trial Arc

Moriko watches the Battle trial between the teams of Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka against Tenya Ida and Katsuki Bakugo. She criticized the personality of the latter, considering it too aggressive and explosive not suitable for a hero.

Moriko is teamed up with Taiel Yamagishi against Yasu Ishida and Shoto Todoroki. They won too easily because Shoto just turned away and left as he saw no reason to participate in the same battle again.

During the break, Moriko start to think about accident that happened in the cafeteria between her and Fumikage. She felt remorse for putting him in such an awkward position. So she decided to apologize to him, but in a very curious and peculiar manner. Withing a week, Moriko left on Fumikage's desk an apple. For this, she got up early in the morning and arrived at U.A. before everyone else, so that she could leave a gift and quickly run out and remain unnoticed. Fumikage was pleasantly surprised to find an apple on his desk for several days, but did not understand who it was from.

One day, the whole plan with a gift for Fumikage was revealed. Fumikage arrived at U.A. earlier than usual and accidentally noticed Moriko quickly leaving the classroom. Putting two and two together, he realized who had been giving him a free treat for a week. He decided to talk to her about it after class face to face.

Moriko, blushing terribly with shame, admitted that she left him apples as a sign of apology for the incident in the cafeteria, but did not dare to approach directly and apologize again, because she believed that Fumikage did not want to talk to her. As a result, these omissions were clarified, and Fumikage accepted Moriko's apology without any problems, since he understood that it was an accident, and the clothes were then washed without any problems.

U.S.J. Arc

Moriko gets questioned by reporters on her way to school the next day. They ask what All Might is like in person. Moriko describe him as an amazing, cool and very strong teacher she ever had. Class 1-A votes for their Class President during homeroom. Tenya suggests the class vote for it. Moriko quietly uses her vote on Fumikage but left it anonymous. Izuku and Momo are voted in as class representatives.

At lunch, Moriko and Taiel discuss the winners of the vote and also ask who voted for whom. She blushing said that she would not answer because she believes tha it is better to leave everything anonymous though Taiel gussed that Moriko voted for Fumikage.

Later on, Shota announces to the Class that they will partake in rescue training at an outside facility. Moriko gets dressed in her costume and seat in same bus with Taiel.

Class 1-A arrives at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, where they meet the Space Hero: Thirteen. Thirteen explains she developed the U.S.J. with the focus on training future heroes on using their Quirks to help others. Suddenly during Thirteen's speech, real villains invade the facility through a warp gate.

Shota fends off the villains on his own and leaves Thirteen to evacuate with the class. They prepare to escape, but they are cut off by the villain Kurogiri. Katsuki and Eijiro attack him, but end up dealing no damage. Kurogiri responds by warping the class to the various areas in the U.S.J. Moriko is transported to the fire zone with Mashirao Ojiro where they are surrounded by villains. They manages to survive with just a few injuries.

Moriko immediately rushed to Fumikage and began asking about his condition. He only said that there was nothing to worry about, because everything was fine with him. Then Moriko was able to see more closely his quirk - Dark Shadow. To the surprise of both, the creature seemed to fall in love with Kobayashi at first sight, allowing himself to touch and stroke. Fumikage was pleasantly surprised, because Dark Shadow is very suspicious of everyone and is not always ready to make contact with someone, but here everything is right away without any problems. Later they told each other about what happened to them durring the villains attacks until the police finally arrived and Class 1-A return to U.A. High.

U.A. Sports Festival Arc

Two days after the attack on the U.S.J., Moriko and her classmates return to school to discuss the attack. Shota returns to class and the students get lectured about the importance of the upcoming U.A. Sports Festival. During lunchtime, Moriko's classmates express their excitement in anticipation of the festival. The most excited person appears to be Ochaco, who proclaims to the class that she'll do her very best. Moriko and her others cheer her on as she yells about doing her best.

Later on after class, Class 1-A's doorway is blocked by a mob of students. Katsuki points out that they're rival students scouting out the competition and demands that the "extras" move out of the way. A student from the general studies course confronts Katsuki and declares war on Class 1-A. This shocks Ochaco and her peers, who don't know who this student is. Then a student from Class 1-B appears and yells at Katsuki. Ochaco and the others fear everyone hates their class thanks to Katsuki.

After the class, she sees Fumikage and decides to walk with him to the station along the way discussing a sport festival.

Moriko trains for the next two weeks prior to the festival. On the day of the U.A. Sports Festival, she gets ready with her classmates in the waiting room. Class 1-A is called out onto the festival arena, where Katsuki gives the pledge. Moriko makes a rather critical statement towards Katsuki saying that he is too much self-confident.

The first round of the festival is an Obstacle Course four kilometers around the outside of the stadium. When the race begins, Shoto tries to freeze everyone trailing him. Moriko manages to avoid the ice and eventually reaches the second leg of the race: "The Fall". She moves very carefully traverses through the obstacle by balancing herself across the tightropes. Then Moriko slowly makes her way towards through the minefield trying not to step on a mine. Moriko manages to finish the Obstacle Race in fifteenth place, qualifying her for the second event: The Cavalry Battle.

The Cavalry Battle lasts fifteen minutes, and each team must try to steal opponent headbands that represent point value. Moriko teams up with Taiel and a guy from Department of General Education. They do not dare to rush into a hot fight for 10.000.000 points and decide to cunningly take away the bandages from other participants. Thus they manage to score enough points and all the members move on to the finals: a one on one fighting tournament.

During the intermission between events, Denki and Minoru manage to fool the girls of Class 1-A into dressing up as cheerleaders. Most of the girls appear to be upset about it, but Toru suggests they roll with it. They are all later embarrassed when Mashirao asks them why they're dressed up. Midnight draws lots to pick the matchups for the final event: a one on one fighting tournament. Moriko is matched up against Fumikage. The students are given an intermission before the finals, which Moriko uses to cheer and calm her nerves.

Moriko watches as Izuku fights Hitoshi Shinso in the first fight. Izuku nearly walks out of the ring while under the spell of Hitoshi's Quirk. She was terrified when Shoto freezes Hanta in a giant wall of ice, saying that he could easily start a new Ice Age. When start the battle between Ochako and Katsuki, Moriko sincerely rooting for her, mentally asking for Katsuki to have the sense not to injure her too much.

Before the her round begins, Moriko prepared at the waiting room for teh fact that she would have to duel with a guy she likes. Although she didn't want to, but the desire to show everyone her abilities overcame her excitement. When there were five minutes left before the start of the round, Moriko intercepts Fumikage and ask him not to hold back when their battle begins. Fumikage agrees and wishes Moriko good luck as she does and they enter the fighting stage.

Moriko duels with Fumikage.

The beginning of the duel was quite active. Moriko incredibly, clear and confident in her attacks, but the Dark Shadow blocks almost everything. At the same time, Moriko notices that Fumikage is not trying to fight her, but only blocking attacks and slowly push her out of the ring. Moriko remembers that Fumikage promised not to hold back and on one hand it is, but she wants a a real fight. At the same time, Moriko recalls how during the Calavry Battle, she noticed how the Dark Shadow reacted to Katsuki's explosions. Moriko creats fireballs and begin to attacking Fumikage with them. The Dark Shadow is afraid of such a bright light and hide. Moriko finally is able to lure Fumikage into hand-to-hand combat, hitting him several times and even putting him on the shoulders blades. But when her fireballs disappear, the Dark Shadow comes back and hit Moriko pretty hardly.

Moriko chooses "Kitsune" as her codename.

Moriko returns to Class 1-A once classes resume at U.A. High School. Shota announces that their current period will be spent on Hero Informatics. He explains that the students will need to choose their hero names. The pro hero draft nominations are revealed and Moriko finds out she has around froty offers from pros. Moriko is excited to see that because she was sure that after her loosing in battle, no one will not invite her. Shota announces that all the students will intern with pros whether they received offers or not.

Midnight joins the class to help the students choose their hero names. Moriko present her hero name which she liked since middle school: Divine Fox Hero "Kitsune". Midnight really liked the name and said it was perfect for Moriko and her quirk.

Once the class finishes formulating code names, they are all given a list of Hero agencies and have two days to choose which office to intern with. One of the suggestions for Moriko was from Mirko, one of the top ten heroes of Japan. She immidietly decides to go to intern under her.

The students are given personalized lists of hero agencies they are to choose from. When the internship week arrives, Moriko is at the train station with her class. She wishes good luck to Fumikage and leaves for an intership. On the train, to her surprise, she saw Taiel, who is also going in the same direction. They spend whole way together talking about different topics and playing cards.

Young Moriko with her parents.

Akira Kobayashi

Akira and Moriko shared a warm father/daughter relationship, even though the girl was not his own child. The man accepted the girl almost immediately into the family and tried to do everything so that Moriko felt like a member of the family.

Akira often played with Moriko, watched cartoons and even had a game tea party with juice instead of tea and cookies. He also unconsciously indulged her, buying various toys and chocolates, although Moriko either didn't ask or felt very deft then.

Their relationship was so strong and warm that Moriko in a couple of days began to call Akira - dad. In the end, this devotion played an important role in saving Moriko's life, where Akira sacrificed himself to save his adopted daughter from the distraught Mizuki. Moriko remembered his noble deed all his life and took the last name "Kobayashi" in honor of her adoptive father.

Mizuki Kobayashi

At first, Mizuki and Moriko shared the warm feelings of their mother/daughter. Mizuki really loved her adopted daughter, trying to become for the baby as a mother. But when the woman discovered that Moriko’s quirk could be activated when she was sleeping, the woman who had not departed from the death of her own child began to use this so that Moriko would dream of Mizuki’s dead daughter every night.

This went on for a long time, and when the snag was revealed and Moriko refused to help her adoptive mother with this, Mizuki finally lost her temper and attacked the girl with a knife, but her adoptive father, Akira, saved Moriko from death, dying right away.

Mizuki was sent to a psychiatric clinic, where, according to doctors, she will remain for life. The years spent in the clinic struck a hatred in the woman’s heart for Moriko, blaming her for the death of her beloved husband, who eventually developed into a desire to kill the girl. Fortunately, Moriko no longer visits her, and doctors forbid anyone to visit Mizuki, because she has become too violent a patient.

Faculty

Shota Aizawa

Aizawa is a homeroom teacher in the Moriko's class, as well as her official guardian. They have quite normal relations, but slightly strained. She, as well as many, was a little surprised by how exactly their teacher turned out to be.

Moriko initially perceived Aizawa as an ordinary teacher, sharing the relationship no more than a teacher/student. The man answered in the same way, no more no less. However, when the truth about the Moriko family was revealed, as well as what happened to her, Aizawa volunteered to help the unfortunate girl, as he could not tolerate such an injustice that resulted in her. When the perpetrators were arrested and put in jail, Aizawa decided to issue custody for Moriko until she came 18 ages.

Class 1-A

Fumikage Tokoyami

Moriko fell asleep on Fumikage's lap.

Moriko and Fumikage first met at the U.A. High School during a Quirk Apprehension Test. Moriko then turned her attention to him and couldn't take her eyes off him, not understanding what kind of feeling was squeezing her heart so hard. Officially, they talked in the dining room when Moriko accidentally knocked over on Fumikage a tray of food, getting dirty from head to toe. Moriko was terribly frightened and began to apologize, promising that she would take his form and clean it to a shine. But Fumikage only denied, saying that this is nonsense and these nothing to worry about. That day, Moriko realized that her heart was beating like a drum, and her cheeks were covered with a pink blush. This was love at first sight.

After this incident, Moriko and Fumikage not really overlap, so to speak. However, Kobayashi felt remorse inside for putting Fumikage in such an awkward position. So she decided to apologize to him, but in a very curious and peculiar manner. During the week of Moriko left on Fumikage's desk an apple. For this, she got up early in the morning and arrived at U.A. before everyone else, so that she could leave a gift and quickly run out and remain unnoticed. Fumikage was pleasantly surprised to find an apple on his desk for several days, but did not understand who it was from.

One day, Fumikage arrived at the U.A. earlier than usual and accidentally noticed Moriko quickly leaving the classroom, looking around. He didn't think much of it until he entered the classroom and saw the familiar apple gift on his desk. Putting two and two together, he realized who had been giving him a free treat for a week, but he still didn't understand why. Fumikage decided to talk to Moriko about it after class face to face. As previously planned, a dialogue took place between them, where Moriko, blushing terribly with shame, admitted that she left him apples as a sign of apology for the incident in the cafeteria, but did not dare to approach directly and apologize again, because she believed that Fumikage did not want to talk to her. As a result, these omissions were clarified, and Tokoyami accepted Kobayashi's apology without any problems, since he understood that it was an accident, and the clothes were then washed without any problems.

Taiel Yamagishi
Main Article: here

Moriko and Taiel play video games together.

Moriko and Taiel were introduced on admission to U.A. High School and almost immediately became close friends. They are quite similar in character and appearance, which at first gives the impression that they are siblings.

Moriko and Taiel often hang out at his house, playing video games in which she is clearly weak, unlike him. However, she is slowly learning, but she has never been able to win. But on the other hand, she does not always allow Taiel to win, since she can simply turn off the console and the game turns off completely. In Taiel's house, Moriko felt comfortable and everyone was kind and sweet to her.

These two share an exclusively brother/sister love for each other and worry about each other. Taiel truly loves Moriko as his sister and was very worried about her condition when the truth about her adoptive parents was revealed. He tried to visit her on the clinic every day and encouraged her in every possible way, trying to show that she was not alone and that there were people who loved her.

Moriko slowly began to feel like a member of Taiel's family, but was often embarrassed that she might bother them. However, by Christmas, Taiel's family made a special gift for her - they officially adopted Moriko and she became a full-fledged member of the Yamagishi family, which she was incredibly happy about. The brotherly ties of Moriko and Taiel were strengthened even more.

Moriko and Noah hanging out.

Moriko shares a close and affectionate relationship with Noah, whom they consider one of their best friends. The connection started to blossom during the school year, initially taking time to develop but solidifying as they teamed up for training and found common ground. Despite both being scatterbrains, their friendship deepened over time.

The bonding moment during the Sports Festival, where they both lost to Furmikage, further strengthened their connection. Noah, however, noticed Moriko's crush on Fumikage, leading to some initial confusion about the compatibility of their unique characteristics.

In Noah, Moriko found a protective figure, akin to an older brother, which made her initially hesitant to share her feelings about her crush. Despite this, Noah's encouragement and support played a crucial role in Moriko's decision to pursue a relationship with Fumikage in the future.

Eijiro Kirishima
17325154_jzM5ePLTjwPp24y.png?1572131653

Eijiro ask Moriko to go out with him.

Eijiro and Moriko are best friends. She sees in him a good friend, even a brother, who can express all anxieties and sorrows, and he will certainly support and give advice. But Eijiro from the very first day was in love with Moriko and for a long time tried to get her attention. He even flirted a little with her, but the girl only laughed, calling him a very nice guy but he's not give up.

Once Eijiro asked Moriko out on a date, but she took it not as a date, but as an ordinary friendly get-together. When Eijiro tried to confess to Moriko his feelings, under the pretext of the question "Do you like someone?", She answered without hesitation - Fumikage Tokoyami. Eijiro felt his heart breaking into pieces, and for some time he did not communicate with Moriko, feeling offended.

For a long time Moriko did not understand why Eijiro was so distant from her and its hurt her very much. It seems like yesterday they were not spilled water, but today they are like strangers to each other. After some time, she learned from Denki that Eijiro was in love with her and when he found out that she loved Fumikage he became very angry and his heart broke. Then Moriko decided to seriously talk with no, even if forcibly. The conversation came out hard and long, but both of them still managed to come to a common agreement. Kobayashi admitted that she could not accept the feelings of Eijiro, but this does not mean that they should move away from each other. They can continue to be friends and be like real brother and sister to each other.

Thanks to this conversation, Eijiro found the strength to let go of his feelings and allow Moriko to be happy with the one she really loves, and at this time he will be there and like a true friend and brother will support her.

Mina Ashido
30133630_oQ6IqUZuWsVpHT5.jpg

Mina teases Moriko.

Mina became the first person Moriko spoke to when she entered the classroom. More precisely, she accidentally knocked Ashido down when she suddenly ran into the classroom. Girls almost immediately found a common language and became friends. They often spend time during recess, chatting and discussing various topics.

Mina was one of the first to know about Moriko's feelings for Fumikage, and sometimes teased her when the girl talked about her or mentioned her in some way. Kobayashi always blushes because of such teasing and asks Mina to stop immediately.

Girls share a common love for dancing and they sometimes like to go to the disco to have fun. During the School Festival, they came up with movements for dance together, but still, it was Mina who came up with most of them, and Moriko did not mind at all, as she understood that her friend was better at it.

Katsuki Bakugo
25250039_jMSBc0BBCoHwO3F.png

Moriko calls Katsuki "pomeranian".

The relationship between Moriko and Katsuki can hardly be called good, but neither can you call them enemies, as well as friends. Moriko did not like Katsuki's character from the first day, as she considered him too selfish and self-confident, while he considered her too noisy, and her quirk worthless and useless.

Due to the hot temperaments of both, this two can sometimes get into a fight, which they manage to knead before they cripple each other. However, once their classmates did not have time, and the guys started a real fight. Katsuki smashed Moriko's lip, and she knocked out a couple of his teeth. Both of them are regularly punished for their fights, so over time they have become a little more restrained with jokes and inappropriate words thrown in their direction.

Over time, their relationship begins to improve, not much of course, but this can be called progress, especially after Moriko returned from the clinic after treatment. More or less, Katsuki and Moriko began to communicate calmly with each other during their Remedial Course.

Class 1-B

Neito_Monoma

Due to his resentment and envy towards Class 1-A, Izuku is targets of Neito's taunts and mockery.

Moriko tries to treat Neito fairly neutral, but his caustic remarks towards 1-A class cause her a nervous tic and a strong desire to punch him in the face as hard as possible. However, Moriko is struggling to restrain herself, and fortunately, Itsuka Kendo is always present nearby, who stops her classmate who has crossed the line in time.

Other Schoolmates

Mei Hatsume

Relations Mei and Moriko are fine. They rarely contacted, but it was Mei who helped Moriko improve her superhero costume by creating gloves with extension claws and boots with built-in engines.

Mei often offers various gadgets and other additional things to Moriko, however, as usual, they always turned out to be not very suitable or useless. Despite this, Moriko is delighted with the dedication and perseverance of Mei, who, despite the setbacks, still continues to go forward and create something new.

Mirko

49037347_vLPoRLVxY9ouLJT.png

Moriko surprised by Mirko's height.

Moriko first met Mirko when she chose her for Internship, to train during the Vs. Hero Killer Arc. They share a very good intern/mentor relationship. Mirko looked at Moriko during the School Festival, seeing that she was strong enough and her quirk was very good, and that she lacked quite a bit before victory.

Although initially Mirko seemed to neglect Moriko, most often leaving her to patrol the cities, she thus checked what the young student was capable of. Various small troubles, like a robber who stole a handbag, which Moriko stopped without any problems, Mirko thereby noticed that she was not mistaken in choosing an intern.

After some time, Mirko began to train Moriko hard, developing her physical data, as well as her abilities. Thanks to such, albeit rigorous training, Moriko was able to become stronger and learned a lot in using her quirks as the ability to create illusions not only visual, but also auditory and smell.
