Kaygen

About

Kaygen is a teenage girl who was adopted by a mage. Because she is half-siren, many people are wary of her and few are willing to give her a chance to prove herself. Still, she is determined to achieve her dream of becoming a mage and a hero like her mother.

Lex

Lex is Kaygen's closest friend. She appreciates that he accepts her the way she is, though he finds her lack of caution in dangerous situations to be frustrating. Lex is often the voice of reason during their adventures and he often helps her get out of trouble. Knowing he has her back puts Kaygen at ease and gives her more confidence to keep moving forward.

Airi

Airi is Kaygen's adoptive mother. She couldn't care less that Kaygen is half-siren and knows she isn't a threat to anyone. She is very loving and protective of her daughter. Kaygen idolizes her and aspires to become a heroic mage just like her.

Lyon

Lyon is Kaygen's pet (based on a Utahraptor). She has helped raised him since he was a hatchling and he is very attached to her. He is surprisingly gentle for his kind and likes to cuddle. However, he is also very protective of Kaygen and will attack anyone who tries to harm her.

Chiron

Chiron is a mage that specializes in slaying monsters. Being a siren, Kaygen is deemed a danger to most of humanity and so she became his prey. Chiron is the biggest threat to her survival as he pursues her relentlessly.

Ava

Ava is a girl Kaygen meets during her journey. Ava is very cheerful and friendly, but Kaygen has difficulty warming up to her at first. She has not had many positive experiences with girls her age and so was rather wary of her, but soon realized that her kindess was sincere.

Eos

Eos is a dragon and like Kaygen, her species his hated by humans. Because of this, they bond rather quickly. Eos also helps her learn to control some of her newfound magic abilities.

Zara

Zara is another girl that Kaygen meets on her journey. Kaygen bonds with her over their love of story telling and developes an interest in astronomy thanks to her. The two of them agree to help each other learn magic skills together.

Myra

Myra is a friend of Airi's and sympathizes with Kaygen's situation. She and her husband, Yasuo help hide her from those who wish to harm her. During their time together, she gives her some useful hints in using elemental magic.

Luna

Luna is an old frienemy of Airi's, but it is uncertain what she thinks of Kaygen. She does not actively try to hurt her, but is hesitant to help her at the same time.

Notes

• Kaygen is unable to speak and uses sign language or her notebook to communicate with people.
• She collects rocks and paints various designs on them.
• She wants to become a mage and a hero like her mother.
• She takes Lyon wherever she goes, even indoors if possible.
• She is very heroic and brave but is prone to recklessness.
