Lex

About

Lex is a teenage boy who comes from a family of powerful mages. Though he is expected to follow his family's footsteps, he doesn't want to become a mage and would much rather live a quiet, peaceful life. His dream is to one day run his own cafe or bakery.

Kaygen

Kaygen is his good friend and the only one who seems supportive of his dreams and aspirations. Her relentless bravery inspires him to be more courageous, but he's often frustrated by how easily she throws caution to the wind. He always seems to get dragged along on her crazy adventures and somewhere along the journey, he fell in love with her.

Luna

Luna is his mentor and she is determined to help him get over his fear of magic. Though she often makes little progress with him, she refuses to give up. Despite her stern personality, she is still very caring and protective of him.

Lyon

Lyon is Kaygen's pet raptor. Lex is not comfortable being near it as he dislikes carnivores. Kaygen often tries to get him and Lyon to become friends with little success. It doesn't help that Lyon is wary of strangers and also suspicious of him.

Airi

Lex knows of Airi because she is fought alongside his brother during the war. However, he doesn't have a good first impression of her since she and his brother didn't get along. He was surprised to find out that she was a rather nice person.

Chiron

Chiron is another aqaintance of the family, but Lex always found him intimidating, so he avoided him. Chiron doesn't think much of him.

Ava

Ava is a girl he and Kaygen meet along their journey. He finds her energetic and bubbly personality a little overwhelming, but doesn't dislike her. She often does a very good job of cheering him up.

Eos

Lex is terrified of Eos when he finds out that she is a dragon, but becomes calmer when he realizes that she has no plans to eat him. Still, it takes him a long time to feel comfortable being near her sharp teeth. Eos thinks his fear of her is funny and tries to scare him on purpose, though this usually ends up backfiring.

Zara

Lex likes Zara very much because before she joined their group, Lex was the only voice of reason. It was refreshing to meet someone calm and levelheaded after having to deal with Kaygen's reckless bravery and Ava's airheaded personality.

Myra

Myra is another mage and friend of his family. This one he actually likes because she is sweet and actually listens to his concerns. She often tries to get his family to go a little easier on him and she stands up for him when she needs to. When Kaygen is in trouble, he takes her to Myra and her husband for help since he knows they can be trusted.

Freesia

Freesia is Lex's pet Iguanodon. She is still a juvenile, but big enough to carry him. Though she is a herbivore, she is a formidible fighter and will defend Lex from his enemies.

Notes

• Lex comes from a long line of famous mages. Both his uncle and older brother were heros in the previous war.
• He was bitten by a carnivorous dinosaur when he was a child, which is why he doesn't like them.
• His fear of magic comes from the stories he heard his brother tell of the war.
• Most people only want to be friends with him because of his famous relatives.
• He has considered running away from home, but knows he won't survive living on his own.
