Years after her time at the Oasis Apartments, Huan Yi has grown into an older, more jaded young woman. Busy with her work at a San Francisco area hospital, her penchant for daydreams has taken a backseat to her work and reading. She still enjoys her classic romantic novels but has become more active in seeking out her happy ending, leading to many an unpleasant dating experience. A handful of relationships aside, Huan Yi spends most of her time buried in reading or her job, and does not have a close group of friends. Having lost touch with the Oasis crew once she moved out into her own place closer to work, she leads a somewhat cloistered existence, and it's beginning to wear on her. The city is changing around her as well, and stranger events are cropping up as 2012 draws to a close, including a new person whose appearance ushers those changes into her own life.
