About
Huan Yi, for all outward appearances, strikes the middle ground between "dreamer" and "grounded". To strangers, she is often quiet, withdrawn, independent, and very protective of her own feelings; friends have come and gone, often confused or annoyed with this timid, stand-offish bookworm and her feverish daydreams. She is a fairly sharp and critical girl in both a personal and academic sense, but one who is under a lot of stress and has no other outlet for it save for her literature. She is fully aware of the divide between fantasy and reality - she just has a stronger preference for worlds with intrigue, sweeping romances, dashingly complex male leads and strong heroines. This has also led to a rather warped "Disney prince" perception of what real love should be like, and she is always on the lookout for her Mr. Darcy (or Mr. Bingley, she's not picky). As she has spent much of her life carefully guarded, Huan Yi is easily swayed to kindness and builds mountains out of molehills so to speak, and those who get to fully know her may be surprised how quickly she comes to depend on them. She craves affection and notice from those she knows and does what she can to hold onto it, tripping over herself to do favors and impress.

love interest
Huan Yi met Tier when he showed her a modicum of kindness in the hallway of their apartment building, and it was love at first sight. She looks for him whenever she leaves the apartment, seeking his attention and praise like a flower seeks the sun.
friend
Huan Yi first knows Jono as one of her neighbors, then as Tier's friend and roommate, then as a friend in his own right. He is quiet and keeps to himself, which she finds relatable. His company is the most preferred in their complex of loud characters.
