Not specifically William Shakespeare's Hamlet. There are differences between this Hamlet and the original.
Hamlet is the crown prince of a corrupted, icy land. Well-versed in many skills, had it not been for his uncle taking the crown, he would have made a wonderful king.
But Hamlet is most definitely 'mad'. He finds enjoyment in his faked madness, much to the chargrin of everyone around him. Even so, he must shoulder the heavy burdens of his royal blood and his father's revenge.

Horatio ( bosom buddies(?) )
Horatio's basically the only friend Hamlet can get himself to trust. It's great that Horatio is such a good friend for him. Could there be something more to their relationship...?
Laertes ( respected rival )
Hamlet really does respect Laertes- but he doesn't often show it, since he likes to laugh and mock Laertes. The feeling is very much not mutual- Laertes would kill Hamlet if he could.
Fortinbras ( ultimate foil )
Hamlet and Fortinbras are like two sides to the same coin. If they ever met, they'd be like brothers. That is, if they get over their dads' respective deaths any time soon.
Ros and Gil ( friendly friends )
They're all buddies! Hamlet doesn't trust them too much, though. He also doesn't know why they are always together. He would like to know, though.
