Leon Slater

Leon was born to a loving mother who he would inherit most of his magical abilities from, and a father who seemed distant most of the time as he was always deep in his research, and later down the line Leon would have a younger brother named Kai. Things appeared to be as fine as they can be, though there was room for improvements such as receiving more love from his father. Instead though, he and Kai would receive a lot of love from their mother who was a beautiful and kind woman with great abilities and strength. From her, they would learn how to hone their abilities and learn about the kind of work she would do which is hunting down monsters.

As time went by, things started to become more strange as Leon would see his father less while his mother would have to go out on hunts more as monsters started to appear more and more. Leon didn’t think too much of it at first since he was still quite young being 12 at the time, but he would later start connecting the dots when he’s 15.

He would come to learn that his father’s research was about the monsters and trying to create and control them himself, and his mother would learn about this and knew she would have to put a stop to it. But due to the man also being on the same level as her when it came to their magic, Leon’s mother would one day drop him and Kai off at their uncle’s home, promising she’ll be back soon. Unfortunately that would never happen as both parents would go missing and their home would be left in ruins. Leon and Kai would end up living with their uncle and his family from then on, Leon, wanting to find his mother, would start doing research of his own and following the same path as her by becoming a hunter.

When Leon was 21, he would meet another man named Donovan who would have an interest in Leon’s research and wanted to help him out any way he could despite not having the ability to use magic. The two would end up becoming the best of friends as they would research and travel together about the mystery of magic and monsters while also having relaxing times just chatting away and messing around.

But good things come to an end, especially in Leon’s life as the more they researched, the more Donovan started to reflect on what Leon’s father was like as he would get more obsessed with learning about the monsters and start having the same questions about creation and control. It would reach a breaking point finally when Donovan suddenly set out to travel on his own, and worried about his friend, Leon would follow him in pursuit. He would discover that Donovan learned of a certain malicious monster that had a particular affinity towards making deals with humans at a cost. Having an awful feeling about this, Leon would quickly make his way to Donovan hoping he could stop him, unfortunately it was too late and the man had already made a deal with the monster. In exchange for the ability to use forbidden magic, he would become the host to the monster who had been amused by the human and would even lend its powers to wreak havoc.

Leon knew that like his mother had, he would have to stop the man he called a friend who turned to evil for power. Ready to fight the man, things suddenly woke up in a strange place where he met a girl with bright red hair named Ami. She claimed to be a grim reaper and tells Leon that he was killed before he could even make a move. Ami would offer a deal though that she would pull some strings and revive Leon, in exchange she wanted Leon to take on the strange and hard task of creating a doll that would be able to hold life. She wouldn’t explain to Leon why she wanted this, and seeing that she would be stubborn about keeping her motive a secret, Leon accepted the deal and would wake up again to where he was and find that Donovan and the monster were long gone.

With a sigh about his failure to stop the situation, Leon would return home as the deal he had made ringed in his head. It would be a long and strange learning process for Leon to create a doll that can hold life for a strange reaper that wouldn’t share her intentions. But finally, after losing much sleep and not taking good care of himself, at the age of 27 he would create a living doll that would be named Alice. It was quite strange and shocking at first that he managed to accomplish this, but he became quite excited at this and would get a surprise visit from Ami who was also impressed by his progress. Though she told Leon that this wasn’t what she wanted as she needed a doll that didn’t have a mind of its own, she did still give praise about his success.

Leon would decide to keep Alice and would consider her as his daughter since he did create her, and with his knowledge and success, after being pestered by Ami here and there he was able to make what she wanted, which was a vessel of a deceased woman Ami had loved. Leon thinking that was the end of that would instead up having the girls living with him also, and his group would only grow as at 30 a girl named Daisy pestered the man to be her teacher in magic, then later would meet a man named Jalmari who he would fall in love with, and that man would take on his student of his own creating quite a large household.

Now 32, Leon feels as if he’s in a better place and wants to keep everyone he loves, safe and sound. But he still has the looming issues of his parents and Donovan, though this time he doesn’t have to be alone.

• Despite being a bookworm, Leon does highly enjoy athletic activities and even fighting.
