About
Sayaka's quirk gives her a force field that she can use to protect herself from harm. It exists as a baseline shield on herself that she can extend out to force things away if needed and also a field she can generate around others/objects. It can block damage, bubble something in, or cushion an otherwise deadly blow. We operate on video game logic here, so its absolutely something that wears down when over-exerted and has a definite limit to what it can absorb. It might lessen the impact of a major hit, even if she'll still feel it in the form of bruising, but that same hit might take her shield out in one go vs. a more sustained ability to absorb more minor blows. It might not help her to hit the hardest, but she can be just as efficient as the heavy-hitters when it takes persistence to be able to hit her in the first place.
Pragmatic, loyal, and crafty, Sayaka once had ambitions of becoming a career hero, but ultimately chose to set that goal aside when faced with the responsibility of helping to care for her aging grandparents. Her concerns over the hyper-competitive nature of sidekick work— let alone the unreliable payoff of starting an agency of her own lead her to seek out work that would leave them worrying less. Its a transition she's forever been justifying to herself, and though she won't admit it she makes sure to keep her hero license valid in case she finally works up the nerve to take the plunge back into what she's always wanted to do.
