Summary
Have you ever broken into a church to steal holy water while dressed in a cheap ninja Halloween costume? What about getting high at your son's football game because his classmate has a thing for weed brownies? Or running a psychic booth tourist trap?
Araceli lives an... interesting life. The single mother of two sons, Araceli runs a small storefront in the toursit section of the city New Bark Town sits next to, peddling psychic services - Palm and tarot readings, fortune telling, mediumship - to varying degrees of legitimacy. Armed with a muzzle full of false tales and the occasional legitimate supernatural experience, she happily cons visitors out of their cash to support herself and her family. She really doesn't mean harm to her patrons, of course, but money is money.
Somewhat eccentric, Araceli is a woman you love or hate, with not much room for anything in between. Sora is used to her oddities, but August? Well... he and his mother have a somewhat strained relationship, but she tries to support him as best she can regardless.
...Even if after the incident with scarfing down a plate of Bathaniel's brownies, she found herself banned from future football games for making the other parents uncomfortable.
Trivia
- Araceli, though aware of her psychic abilities, has no real control over them. They manifest at seemingly random times, showing her visions of spirits and the like... but she often doesn't quite understand the meanings of the things she encounters, causing those she tells about them, and even herself at times, to write them off as nonsense (or perhaps a bit too much THC in her CBD coconut oil).
- Though neither she or her former partner have ever had wings, her firstborn son, Sora, was born with several sets of them - Unbeknownst to both Araceli and her family, both Sora's wings and her own psychic abilities are the result of decending from a long-forgotten deity (referencing Araceli's role as a goddess within her main universe).
- Despite her fascination with the fantastic and supernatural, Araceli has a strong dislike of owls - She finds their unmoving eyes and oddly-flexible necks unnerving.
