Profile
If we are allowed to meet again, I hope the next time will be different.
「Ouyang」
age 27
height 185cm
gender male
pronouns he/him
race & class half-orc (monk)
birthdate 18th may
Disgruntled, somewhat surly, yet anything but cold. An amateur tomb-raider and headhunter; a child of mixed ancestry raised to believe he was protecting the history of a realm he wanted to belong in. In the first run of the world, he starts as Kuya's lifelong partner. In the second, they begin as enemies.
Trivia
- His name contains the character for 'sun' (陽).
- His tusks and tattoo changes depending on timeline.
- Is always a monk, but different subclasses. The Long Death version belongs to SoW's first timeline that ceased to exist, while the Shadow & Sun Soul ones belong to its sequel.
Growing up unsure of his place in Una, Ouyang sided with those who offered him community - though it meant that he grew up under doctrine, with his self-worth measured only in violence. Much of his story is a continuous struggle to break away from this life, rediscovering through a series of rights and wrongs a more vulnerable side of himself that no one had ever paid much attention to.
Regardless of worldline, Ouyang finds himself most at ease with Kuya - a person who he argues with, hurts, eventually comes to understand as an equal, and undeniably loves despite himself.

01.
Sun Over Water
The original worldline. Here, Ouyang broke away from his organization and trained with Kuya under the same teacher. Later, they set off together on a map trail of crypts and puzzles after her murder, meeting new friends in their race towards the unknown. Their differing lifespans leads to a betrayal neither can resolve, and they choose to undo their mistakes by erasing this story.
02.
Another Dawn
The new world where he and Kuya never met - except their paths cross again, only 6 years later. Sent to the convent to hunt down a 'key' to a particular tomb, Ouyang ends up attacking and kidnapping Kuya as (seemingly) its holder. Though opposed as enemies, their paths converge as their journey begins to uncover strange hints of something ancient returning from its prison beyond the horizon.

Epilogue
Sunlight bled gold into his blood. Connected to the sun via what he returned to the sky, after the fall of all celestial eaters, Ouayng is now free to discover the world as he pleases. He's found a home and lifelong partner in Kuya, and spends his days journeying and bickering with them.
partner, unfortunately
Ouyang's other half. They may argue, but understand each other more than anyone. They've gone on countless journeys together.
friend
She wanted his head when they met. Acerbic at first, though they eventually found a means to compromise.
friend
Her privilege used to annoy him to no end. These days, it still sort of does, in the way two thugs would get along.
