BACKGROUND
CHILDHOOD
En grew up in an orphanage. Spending years never getting adopted, he gradually developed a chip on his shoulder over being "unwanted."
When he turned 13, he was drafted into his empire's army to do deliveries and other menial, non-combatant tasks.
When the (very young) crowned prince snuck out of the palace one night, En just happened to encounter (and recognize) him and defiantly dragged him back to safety. Expecting to be beheaded for it, En was instead made into the prince's private attendant. They became friends.
LATE TEENS INTO ADULTHOOD
After the fall of the empire, En joined rebellions, then watched them collapse from within. He did things he wasn't proud of, but nothing good came of it. He spent some time drifting around, homeless.
...Then he just happened to meet some kids who were just as alone and in need of someone as he was.
ADULTHOOD
Thanks to a few people helping him out, En has a house now, and is looking after his three kids that he stumbled into adopting.
That's when he meets Aldis, and the story starts! And I'm not gonna spoil that!
TRIVIA
- Created in 2019.
- He's actually got teeny horns on his head, they're just so small they aren't visible through his hair.
- Being half-human, he's physically weaker than most people he knows, including his kids.
SKILLS
- Earth Magic (passive): He can sense things in the ground, and could theoretically be able to tell if an earthquake was coming (I say this with 100% sincerity, the latter will literally never be an important or useful skill in the story).
Immunity to Mind Magic (passive): Magic like this is usually tailored to work on either humans OR demons, not both. Because En falls into a grey area, it's never especially effective on him.
RELATIONSHIPS
A very comforting and relaxing presence in En's life. He still thinks Aldis is too good for him.
Not an exaggeration to say these two kept each other going during the hardest part of their lives. He tends to baby her now.
Sweet, precious, light of his life. Every time she tries to eat something inedible, he has a minor meltdown.
Two people who would seem like they would never be able to get along, yet would actually do alright. (She'd still make him nervous though.)
Two people who seem like they'd be able to get along, yet would probably end up constantly under each other's skin.
They're both a little prone to anxiety and both kinda dummies, so they get along fairly well.
En's childhood friend. To say he has some emotional baggage over this kid who never got to live to adulthood is putting it lightly.
