Pongo

Pongo's a bright ray of sunshine on a dark night - he knows exactly the right ways to cheer you up, whether it's through his hugs, his emotional support...well, let's be real, it's usually his hugs. He gives very good hugs, and though he'll never admit it out loud, they help him just as much as they help the recipient. Besides being a general bundle of joy, Pongo is an optimistic and compassionate friend of the world. He's just as excited to talk about his own interests as he is listening to his friends' interests. He does often put others before himself, especially in dangerous circumstances - he has no sense of self preservation and will always put himself in the line of fire to keep others out of harm's way. He can take more than a few hits, but it's quite scary to witness and he doesn't think he's doing anything wrong by doing this. Deep down he's terrified that he'll never be strong enough to keep his friends safe, and to avoid "becoming weaker", he tends to overwork himself to the bone, resulting in very strong insomnia. Good thing he's so reliant on coffee?

Pongo is the Protector of Water, meaning that he has powers over the element of water and its respective domains (oceans, rivers, rain to an extent). He is also an android created by his mother, Anna, to be her guardian. The only giveaways for his inhuman nature are his normal eyes (indigo and pupiless) and his speech - he's incapable of using contractions, such as "don't" and "wouldn't". He'll automatically refer to "do not" and "would not" in such instances. Aside from these, as well as his completely inhuman ability to take damage that a normal human can't withstand, he acts completely human and is fully sentient.

(NOTE: Pongo's my main OC, and I like to try and create him in other established universes, so sometimes he looks a little different! But the art I made of him in those worlds is still adorable so it's going in the gallery anyways xD if you're looking for his most accurate and canonical appearance, look for the image of him with three outfits standing in the same pose, or any of the ones where his eyes are one solid color! His age also changes across universes and over the series - he's 18 at the beginning, and 22 by the end. I often draw him when he's 21/22, as that's when he has his Special Eyes and has grown into himself!)
