Hair color/style: Bright red, nearly floor length hair. It's silky to the point of nearly looking wet & covers the left half of her eye.

Outfit: Bright red dress with dark red fire pattern on the torso, dark red elbow length gloves.

Gem description: A Ruby in the cut of a Sapphire, placed on her right hand's palm

Personality Description: Red Sapphire is charismatic, hot-headed, and lively. She can be manipulative and sometimes uses Pearl (or anyone else she meets) for selfish reasons, but generally doesn't mean much harm.

Likes: Bass guitars, swing dance, & lipgloss. 

Dislikes: Olives, bugs, & humans who don't understand her status. 

Friends: Red Pearl (her pearl)

Enemies: Various human exes

Crush/Lover: Several humans (all former, she's currently single.)

Strengths & Weaknesses: Her fire powers is a big strength, but she doesn't have much else- she can't use her weapons very well & is physically quite easy to overpower.

Backstory: Red Sapphire was made during the gem war, with the intent that she would be sent to Earth and always be around to tell Pink Diamond about Rose's next move with her future vision- No other Sapphire was willing to do this because of the high risk associated with going to Earth, so she had to be specially created & forced to. 

Due to the resource shortage going on at the same time, Sapphire was made as a part-ruby (a cheaper but similar gem to produce) resulting in her being red and lacking a full set of Sapphire's powers. It would take too long to try this again if she failed, so a custom Pearl was made for her before she even emerged to help ensure her success.

As soon as they emerged, they were briefed on their mission and set off toward Earth (At Pearl's advice, they used a ship rather than Warp Pads because Crystal Gems could be waiting at them). Their creation was badly timed however, as it was only hours before Pink Diamond's "Shattering". They lost communication with Homeworld in the resulting chaos, and finally arrived on Earth long after the war settled down.

They still consider themselves part of Homeworld, but have no way to communicate with it, and have been living their lives on Earth since. They've slowly become estranged from Homeworld and have become accustomed to Earth's independence, so they're really more like the crystal gems than they know.
