Profile

Phoenix is lovingly nicknamed “Bird Dad'', as his personality and mannerisms do bring the image of a father to the mind. He tries to keep a balance of friendliness and leadership around others using a “do-no-harm-but-take-no-crap” mentality. Phoe still carries his Texan accent after living in Pennsylvania for over 30 years, though it has become less thick. Phoe’s altruistic mentality is something that’s spread to the other Coasterdroids at Knoebels, encouraging them to help anyone who needs it. He isn’t without his flaws though; he has abandonment anxiety (a type of anxiety that coasterdroids that were relocated from an abandoned park get; essentially, they’re afraid of a park closing and being left SBNO without a chance of demolition or relocation), gets stressed easily (which his attempts to hide it doesn't help, though the people close to him can easily tell when he’s stressed) and can be a bit stubborn. He does get along with most coasterdroids, bar one exception; RMC IBox track conversions. If there’s one thing Phoe fears the most, it’s that the public/park won’t find him interesting enough as a woodie and force RMC to convert him (even if the chance of that really happening are slim to none), permanently altering him and possibly creating a catalyst for the conversion of other “classic” woodies. Even though he’s never met one (and he believes that they’d be targeting him if one did show up at Knoebels), just hearing the acronym makes him nervous. When GCI announced a competitor to RMC’s IBox track, “Titan Track”, it only made him more nervous about the future of wooden coasters. However, companies like GCI and Gravity Group continue to open up all-wooden coasters, which helps quell some of Phoe’s worries that traditional woodies are on their way to extinction. Still, there is a part of him that longs for the days when “wooden coasters were built to be wooden and STAYED wooden”. Additionally, Phoe has won the GTA for the best wooden coaster in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 (2020 GTA’s were formatted differently as a result of the pandemic), further proving that the public and enthusiasts love his coaster just the way it is (although this fact has gained the ire of some other popular wooden coasters, something that confuses Phoenix). With an origin that seems almost-mythical for a wooden coaster, Phoenix is a beloved figure among Coasterdroids and embodies the familial spirit that makes his park what it is.
