Hypnos is the god of sleep and dreams and is the brother of Thanatos. 

Hypnos is a pale god with dark grey markings all over his body. He is a fairly short god, around 5'9, though his wing span is wider then most. His eyes are a very dark blue to match the night sky, and his dark brown hair is always a curly mess and always has a poppy flower in it. His wings are a dark grey, and sometimes they droop low enough to brush the ground.

Due to his domain, Hypnos is known to be a gentle god who protects the mortals within dreams. He is soft-spoken, but also has a sense of humor, and can have moments of loud laughter. He often prefers to stay in the background, letting his brother do most of the talking for the two of them, considering the two of them are rarely apart. Like his brother, he is pretty well liked by the gods due to his nature, with the exception of Zeus who was tricked by him twice due to Hera.

Hypnos was born along with his brother in the era of titans, where The Underworld was still not organized and tended to be a dangerous place to be. Hypnos and Thanatos were in a better position then most, with their parents being the primordials Nyx and Erebus, who would always protect them. Still, the two of them adapted to keeping low and staying out of sight. Once humans started to inhabit the world was when Hypnos finally left The Underworld, able to use his abilities more often and finally finding a role for himself.

After the attack lunched on the gods of Olympus by the demons succeeded and discorperated most of the gods, weakening them enough for them to loss their chosen forms, Hypnos is forced to step up along with Thanatos in Hades's absence to make sure The Underworld doesn't fall apart, pushing Hypnos into an uncomfortable position where he can't just rely on his brother anymore, and he has to feel confident enough to make his own decisions without fear.

Thanatos

Thanatos and Hypnos are truly brothers attached at the hip. They spent most of their early years together, looking out for eachother in the turbulent Underworld when they were away from their parents. On top of this, their domains are connected, death and sleep, so they often have to preform their duties together. Hypnos, as the more relaxed of the two, often teases his brother's tendency to overthink and was well aware of who exactly was romantically interested in Thanatos before his brother had any clue. He encouraged these pursuits on both sides, and is slightly smug about how everything turned out.

Trivia

• One of his symbols are poppy flowers, which along with always having one in his hair, they sometimes sprout when he walks.
• If you look closely when he flies, you can see a dust trail him, this is a part of his aura that puts others to sleep.
• Hypnos still gets spooked by just seeing Zeus after the favors he had to do for Hera, though unknown to him, Zeus has moved on from those incidents.
