― Zeus to Jasper

Zeus is one of the gods of Coral Bay, and serves as the king of the gods. On top of being king, Zeus is also in charge of the weather in the bay, and has a hand in the dealing of justice for higher crimes.

Appearance

Zeus is a very tall god, standing at 7'8 feet tall, though he is still the shortest of the three kings. His skin is marked with darker grey marks in a way close to vitiligo. His eyes are blue, and often his eyes will have lighting flash across them due to his power. His hair and his beard are light grey, and is soft and cloud like and constantly curly.

Personality

Zeus is considered a good king, wise and fair and also having a soft spot for mortals, but his heart is one of his weaknesses. His loving nature has caused problems in the past, though he still maintains good relations with some of his past lovers. Though this has also created close allies and helped prove his worth. He has a romantic soft spot for Ganymede and treasures his friendship with his animal companion Cumula, and does love his children.

History

Before the events of Coral Bay, Zeus had reigned as King of the Gods since overthrowing his father Cronus, enduring even after an attempted to overthrow him came from some other Olympians including Poseidon and Hera. As the events of Coral Bay drawn nearer with the arrival of Jasper, Dami, and Morris to Olympus, Zeus finds himself becoming a mentor of sorts to young Jasper, who started developing sky based powers including lightning. Zeus proves to be the best option to teach him due to his wisdom and patience with the very shy and easily discouraged godling.

After the attack lunched on the gods of Olympus by the demons succeeded and discorperated most of the gods, weakening them enough for them to loss their chosen forms, Zeus still says with Jasper, knowing that he will still need to life his apprentice's spirts and help him restore the sky for the new world. Zeus even within his weaken form tries to stop Jasper's powers not go haywire by absorbing as much as he can, which turns out to help him return to form in the end.

Relationships

Hera

Nothing would have ever changed it, Hera was always meant to be queen, no one else could ever do better.
― Zeus

The relationship between Zeus and Hera is complicated. Due to the meaning of marriage within the old land's culture, these meanings extended to the gods. This means that their marriage was based on the fact that Hera was the best candidate for queen of the gods, and not if the pair actually loved eachother. This is reflected in how many lover's Zeus had, with Hera's rage with them mostly being enacted to protect her claim as queen. The two still hold some respect and some fondness, though even later on when the number of Zeus's lovers seemed to dwindle it wasn't quite right to call what they had love. The two of them still work amazingly together within their ruling, being pretty in sync with eachother.

Ganymede

Ganymede is a special case when it comes to Zeus, as the formerly mortal Trojan prince is one of very few men to peek Zeus's interest romantically, which resulted in him being brought to Olympus and being given immortality and made Zeus's personal cupbearer. This position basically means the two of them are attached at the hip, where the two are rarely seen apart, and do share a bed together most nights. They both tend to flirt, though Zeus is more likely to do it around others then Ganymede is, and kisses often happen at random throughout their day.

Trivia

  • Zeus's animal companion is a golden eagle named Cumula, who he gifted a human form due to her loyalty. The two of them have a strong friendship.
  • Zeus often clashes with Poseidon, with the two brothers often being passive aggressive to eachother.
  • He often wanders around Olympus when he has free time, checking up on his family during his strolls.
