PERSONALITY

Before attending Tempest, everyone knew Dave as the lovable, charismatic, cheerful, helpful jock of the class. In comparison to Simon's arrogance, Dave shines through with his dorky well-meaning demeanor. Even in comparison to Luis, he's kind of dense. He's never cruel nor rude. His utter lack of social cues can get him into issues though. Especially with girls. At the start of the saga, he's dating Katie. Their surface-y relationship seems to work for both of them.

Dave (later Johnny) is the classic himbo that everybody loves. He's kind, wholesome, and handsome. He's also extremely gullible and easily tricked. He's genuine but sometimes he does like it when people compliment him. He wont go out of his way to search for them but about 10% of his good deeds/kind words are just hoping someone will compliment his mildly fragile ego. However, he does genuinely like seeing people happy and doing things for people just to make them feel better if they've had a rough day. Especially his girlfriend, Katie. Like Darren, he's a good lad.

Unfortunately, his inadequacies with Katie and later, other girls, begin to escalate and he becomes extremely unstable and disgustingly pathetic and clingy. Where once before he possessed childlike confidence, in its place was disturbing weakness. In order to sustain himself, he ran to City technology instead of mental help. He sought the use of the Painted Doll. He attended a Wedding and is now happily Married.

HISTORY

Most of his story is inspired by The Killer's 'Hot Fuss' album so I'll be referencing the songs in his story. As with a lot of Keno bios, spoilers.

In the beginning of Keno, the two of them revitalize an old relationship that took a hiatus during high school. A high school which was moderately massive, taking in maybe ~1.5k students. So there were times when students who didnt meet each other until Keno events. The main four were together and they knew Tanya, Scarlet and Brad. These fellas knew each other back in grade school. Chloe joined the group in freshman year. Luis was only Brad's friend for the later half of senior year. Hence why Amy and Luis dont know each other.

But Katie and Johnny knew each other. But during Keno events, Simon also enters the picture. Katie is pretty instantly stricken. He's short but he takes care of himself and he's a little spicier than vanilla pudding Dave. One night, Dave is out but Katie and Simon aren't.

Dave and Simon are big buddies. Bestest. Kinda. Dave is more the sidekick to Simon. He's the guy that sorta just follows Simon around, agreeing with shit that Simon thinks is cool. And one night, the three of them are together and it... well becomes quite clear that Katie has taken a liking to Simon. Sadly for her, he couldn't give two shits about her mostly. He's just in it for Simon things. They become closer and closer together physically (likely some drinking is involved, maybe not). But eventually, Dave tries to break it up, tries to stand up for himself because also during this time, Simon is lowkey insulting Dave, saying shit like he's a wuss and that Katie hates that, which, he's not wrong but dude, Dave's your buddy. Simon doesnt care and neither does Katie. Eventually shit gets really heated and the two share a kiss. Dave is completely heartbroken and runs out (Mr. Brightside).

They end up going all the way. Dave and Katie are separated (Everything Will Be Alright. "So take your suitcases, I don't mind. And baby doll I meant it everytime").and Simon and Katie share ... intimacy. Something that makes Dave feel sick on the inside. He begins to lose it real quick, masking his heartbreak via smiles, never addressing the problem, saying he's better off this way. But clearly he's not and he actually goes out to buy/have something made that disturbingly resembles Katie (Everything Will Be Alright "I wasn't shopping for a doll").

Seeing as how denial is failing miserably and everyone sees him as a mess, he acts as if he was the one that broke it all up and tries to get them together again. (Believe Me Natalie and Change Your Mind). This doesn't work and only makes it worse. He now begins to further grab for people's sympathy without ever trying to do anything himself, leaning onto Darren for emotional support. Someone who's also trying to help out Mullet not go down the path of self- and other-destruction. Darren is forced to split himself up at odd ends and hours to talk to Dave.

Eventually, somehow Clavin (and apologies, this part is up for working out) finds out. And he, like Jimmy, is a manipulator. But a less personal one. Clavin stands at distance to Dave where Jimmy is right with Mullet. Clavin doesn't really care how Dave fairs whereas Jimmy does for Mullet. And so Clavin begins to weave this story that Dave is actually amazing and wonderful, pointing to his past successes as a football dude (Andy You're a Star). It's the most pathetic and cruel thing but Dave cant help but grab on.

Clavin begins to hint there's something that can make him even "happier". The Painted Doll. PFFFT who needs that Katie bitch when you got perfection? And is marriage?? So Clavin, after Dave disgracely agrees, arranges a wedding. A Wedding of the Painted Doll. And to remind you, this is an Age of Lights machine constructed to help rid you of negative emotions. A digital lobotomy basically. And so Dave is wed. (An Empty Bliss Beyond this World, Stage 3 C'mon, you know I have to Caretaker all my OCs >U>)

But he's not Dave anymore. He's Johnny! He's a guy that gets shit done! Goes to the gym, works out, keeps after himself! Good stuff ya know!?

Dave is also the working out kind of dude. He likes the gym, showing other people the gym and hates leaving it. Dave is in the best shape of his life.
