Minori "Amaya" Sato

Personality:

One of the few things that follows Amaya through all of the universes she's been in is her personality. Due to growing up in an abusive household, she instinctively believes people are out to get her, but can be convinced otherwise if you treat her well enough. On the outside, Amaya pretends to be a stereotypical Valley Girl/Gyaru Girl, pretending to be shallow, dumb, and morally loose. In reality, Amaya is cold, pessimistic, and holds grudges to the point of it being unhealthy. If she trusts you enough, she'll drop her act and show you what she's really like. This tends to deter most people, so Amaya has a long history of close friends/partners abandoning her. She claims that she can count all of the people who have stuck around after finding out about her true personality on one hand.

Another result of this is that Amaya suffers from crippling lonliness and abandonment issues. She tries to act like it doesn't effect her, but it truly does.

Persona Bio:

Amaya was born as Sato Minori (佐藤 みのり) on February 29th, 1992 to a pair of unwed, teenage parents. Little is known about her parents other than the fact that her mother was the child of Greek immigrants who came to Japan in the late 1970s in hopes of finding better work. These factors led to Amaya's childhood being rough, she was bullied relentlessly in school, and her parents couldn't get decent-paying jobs due to having a child at such a young age. Amaya's mother was highly abusive to both Amaya's father and Amaya herself, which led to Amaya spending more time out of her home than at home.

When Amaya was 14 years old, her father went missing. No one truly knows what happened to him, but Amaya beleives her mother may have murdered him, be it intentional or unintentional. About a year after this happened, Amaya and her mother moved to Iwatodai, where Amaya began going to Gekkoukan High School, where she became somewhat infamous for her...odd habits (such as bringing her bicycle on the train to school instead of leaving it at the station like a normal human being.), but for the most part remained a regular student.

In the normal P3 timeline, Amaya is killed by her mother on June 30th, 2009.

In the "Platinum" timeline Amaya survives due to Minato's interference. After living at SEES' dorm for a few days while trying to escape her home situation, Amaya is found to be a Persona user, much to the shock of the other residents. After permanently moving into the dorm, Amaya dyed her hair a pinkish-blonde in an attempt to look more like the other members of the group (instead of a generic NPC student) and joined the school dance team, where she befriended one of Ryoji's side hoes a fellow student named Kohaku Haruko.

Fun Facts:

• Amaya has a borderline obsession with coffee and caffine. She would willingly snort coffee grounds like cocaine if that's what it meant for her to get caffine.
• She could be a great singer if she put her mind to it, but she doesn't out of laziness.
• Amaya's mother's name is "Mercy", which means she refuses to call any character or person she encounters named "Mercy" by that name. (I.E. she would only refer to Mercy from overwatch as "Angela".)
• Amaya has brain damage from her mother's abuse, which leads to her having a diminished sense of smell and touch.
• This also results in her having a lower mental "filter", so she sometimes blurts out things she shouldn't, which makes keeping secrets next to impossible for her, but she tries to keep them anyways.
• Amaya's best friend outside of SEES, Kohaku, belongs to 0nipup
