Cheerful. Proper. Vain. Admiring. Gentle. Emotional. Modest.
She's cheerful and proper, always careful to put up the best appearance that she can. Bernice is very concerned with how others see her and does everything that she can to find approval and acceptance. Her over-use of compliments can sometimes make her seem insincere, despite her striving for honesty. Around stronger or more outspoken personalities, she tends to become quieter. She almost completely clams up around anyone who is particularly pushy or mean, as she has a hard time dealing with such personalities and would rather not be noticed in those situations. She's surprisingly good with household tasks such as laundry and cooking, and can become fairly creative when she's determined to make sure such things are taken care of. Bernice is easily overwhelmed by anything unfamiliar, but is so determined to save face that she'll do everything she can to hold herself together and act like she's not bothered.

Appearance
Bernice is fair-skinned with a clear complexion, upon which she often wears a light layer of makeup. She has light green eyes and light brown hair with a blonde tint; most of the time, it's styled into a curled ponytail, but she occasionally tries out other styles. Her build is slim and petite, which gives her plenty of excuses to wear doll-like clothes. Bernice prefers wearing dresses or skirts and takes extra time to make sure that the colors of her outfits are all well-coordinated.

Story
Bernice's parents went through a harsh divorce while she was still very young. She doesn't remember her father very well at all since he never returned after things were finalized and her mother made a big deal about removing any pictures or evidence of him ever having been in their lives. She grew up very sheltered by her mother, who was something of a mess after the divorce she went through. Bernice didn't really think about how she made friends growing up, but noticed in her early teens that her mother only seemed to allow her to hang out with those who she approved of. Due to her own withdrawn nature, Bernice actually found it helpful that she didn't have to worry about whether or not she wanted to spend time around someone else; she could simply use her mother's lack of permission as a reason to avoid classmates or events that she didn't have interest in. Bernice temporarily attended a boarding school for her first year of high school, but developed a lot of anxiety while living away from home. Her mother also had a hard time letting her be away for so long, and it was a mutual agreement between the two of them to pull her out of the school and return to a private school that she could commute to from home.

Chantalimon

Sometimes Bernice feels like more like the parent of a wild toddler than a partner to Chantalimon. She often scolds her partner for picking up crude language or behaviors from others, and Chantalimon happily accepts all criticism from her (though that doesn't mean that she's very good at dropping the habits she picks up). Chantalimon draws out a lot of Bernice's latent impulsiveness and makes her act before she overthinks what she's doing. Bernice tends to forget to put up a front of being on her best behavior when with her partner and is able to relax instead of being too uptight all the time.

It's easy for Bernice to accept Emma as the leader of their group, since she's eager to be a follower rather than a leader. She looks up to Emma and respects her for her quick, confident decisions. She doesn't like to see Emma and Jaesun bickering and will sometimes try to distract Emma before arguments can break out.

Jaesun
Teammate
Bernice initially tries to stay out of Jaesun's way, finding him somewhat intimidating. She builds up the courage to say something when she senses tension between him and others, unless a disagreement is already underway. It takes a while before she's less afraid of his company and they develop an odd friendship based on mutual, silent agreement to not make things worse for each other. The two of them make the second strongest pair in terms of offense, given their Digimon's opposing natures of water and fire.

Ethan
Teammate
Although she won't admit it to anyone (especially not herself), Bernice harbors something of a crush towards Ethan, finding herself drawn to his supportive nature. She admires his peacemaking abilities and how casually he can turn a stressful situation into something more relaxed and playful.

Irene
Teammate
Definitely the most soft-spoken pair, though Bernice is slightly more outspoken. Irene is actually relaxed around Bernice from pretty early on, and they maintain a comfortable friendship. The two of them are the least likely to cause any sort of problems if left unsupervised, as compared to the rest of the group. Bernice accidentally acts as a shield between Irene and Saria, as Irene is 50x more intimidated by Saria's nature than Bernice ever was.

Walter is hard for Bernice to understand, as she has a difficult time predicting what sort of comments he's going to make. Since he's not too intrusive, she finds that she can tolerate his presence very well. Bernice accidentally picks up some of his speech patterns at times and is exceptionally embarrassed whenever she realizes that she's done so. She does feel that Walter needs improvement on reading the atmosphere and sometimes tries to help him understand situations that seem to be beyond him, which usually results in her ending up more confused than anything else.

Saria

Bernice is at first very intimidated by Saria's outgoing nature. She is very quickly pulled into Saria's pace and is not assertive enough to bring herself to fight against it. Saria accidentally teaches inappropriate words/phrases to Chantalimon, much to Bernice's frustration. The two girls do actually spend a lot of time bonding over fashion and cute/trendy things; even when they don't share the exact same aesthetic, they can both appreciate each other's tastes. The pair of them end up as a very reliable tag-team in battle, quickly swapping out or overlapping attacks with each other to keep enemies confused.

Notes
∙ Bernice is actually ver close to her mother, and her fashion sense was developed based on what her mother wanted to see her wear. She's very very fond of her wardrobe and rarely branches out into other styles.
∙ She loves to paint her nails, but hates to see any sort of chips or imperfections. As soon as anything happens to her nail polish, Bernice is very OCD about removing all of it as soon as possible.
∙ It's actually a big concern of hers that Chantalimon sometimes mirrors her inner thoughts; Bernice doesn't ever want to admit that she may be anything less than the perfect little lady she was raised to act like.
