 The Moth is a minor role to be played from the shadows. Primarily The Moth was in charge of The Stage's rigging; they would lower and raise the background settings from the catwalk. It was a role that suited them, as they preferred not to be seen. In their spare time they enjoyed reciting lines to themself and their moths in the dim candlelight. The Narrator caught wind of this and made The Moth into his latest muse, recasting him as The Monarch. Shining in the light, The Monarch was the center of attention for a singular story. It could never last, though when the final bows were taken, they were cast aside for another muse and took back their old role. The taste of attention was addictive, though, and they foolishly fought to take it back. The Narrator took their sight, leaving them in the dark forever. However, The Moth still yearns to return to their rightful place as the Narrator's muse. |
The Moth is a shy thespian with little to no interest in socialising, only known to spend time with a few other thespians, mostly The Magician.  The Moth's costume consists of a black jumpsuit and a cape made to look like moth wings. His mask is a brown moth mask with spots made to look like many eyes. His eyes are bright yellow and his skin is a pale green. As his alternate role, The Monarch, he wears a red cape and a fairy-like crown. His mask is gold and white, depicting a smiling fae face. |
