Maria

Maria was born many hundred years ago as a Spanyard, assigned male at birth, who found her calling as a travelling bard. With her magical powers, she was able to conjure illusions to match the songs and stories she told with her lute. Eventually, she heard of a competition, a local Lord promised the gift of immortality to whoever he chose as a personal musician. Wanting to be able to make music forever, and easily being able to pass as male ("simpler" times), Maria signed herself up. The competition was dead easy for her, and the difference between her and the second best competitor was just too vast. She won, and the Lord's enchanter gave her immortality. The spell was in the form of a tattoo, made from ink derived from incredibly rare and magically potent ingredients that would permanently bind her soul to her body. The ritual ended with her being stabbed in the heart. 

A few days later, she came back to life, now undead. Her need to eat, breathe, and sleep have vanished. Her magic has fundamentally changed as well, now restricted to the unholy energies her body is seeped in. And so, for many years, she remained a loyal musician to the Lord she worked under. But, Lords back then weren't the greatest, and Maria craved her freedom, so she helped lead an uprising against the equally immortal Lord, overthrowing him, and burning his body into ash. They say he still haunts the halls of the castle he lived in.

Centuries have passed, and Maria's taste in music has changed. Passing her Lute out for an Electric Guitar, she now plays in the famous metal band "Roadkill Requiem"

• Her band does a somewhat wide variety of genres. A large amount of Maria's songs have her doing traditional Death Metal screeches, but she also does heavy metal, and various Rock genres too, including Prog / Classic Rock. While most of her songs are intense and noisy, she also does some slower paced, calmer, sometimes downright cheery music! She even does some Acoustic stuff! Fan reception towards her experimentation is mixed, and most of her fans have a small number of songs they dislike.
  
• A lot of her songs have darkly humorous lyrics. She's written a prog rock song called "Fight Me Helen" which tells of a tale of a rivalry between suburban moms that ends in a bloodbath massacer at a bake sale. It's gotten a music video on VEVO with over a million views.
  
• Maria removed her vital organs herself one day, tired of having to deal with them. She keeps them, preserved, in jars. Just in case.
• She still has her eyes, also preserved. She can see through them as well as through her eye sockets, no matter how far apart they are.
  
• She even still has her stabbed heart, lovingly sewn back together.
• Used to experience a lot more dysphoria. It was primarily due to her masculine voice, and less so to her face. She didn't really experience  body dysphoria. Now, she's got no face, has learned to make her voice sound feminine, and got rid of her dick so she's content.
• Maria can heal her own injuries using magic, but they would never heal on their own. Similarly, she needs magic to make her hair grow.
• Maria soaks her body in formaldehyde every now and then, to prevent decay. If she didn't, she'd be slightly more rotten looking, but wouldn't decay to nothing altogether.
• If she started preserving herself again after a long break without doing so, her decay would reverse to the mostly unrotten state she's in right now. This is due to her Lich enchantment, and its ability to prevent her from decaying to nothing.
• Maria has her own personal glamor field, in the form of a necklace. As long as she wears it, she looks human. However, it does not disguise her scars, which she tells people was the result of surgery. She needs a personal glamor since she tours, and not every city she visits has glamor fields (and even if they did she'd look different in each one).
• She could have got a glamor field that does disguise the scar, but she became famous before she was able to afford the enchanted necklace that disguises her. Plus, it looks "metal af."
• Maria has a notably raspy and slightly deep (but feminine) voice that is not disguised by a glamor at all (glamors are purely visual). Her unique singing voice is something that draws fans to her band.
• Maria feels no pain, and very little physical sensation. If you impaled her on a spike, she might not even notice.
• Maria's songs can heal demons and undead, while harming living things.
• Maria's magical abilities do not actually improve the quality of her music. She's just that talented.
• When Maria died, she suffered what is known as a reawakening: a sudden (but not always complete) change in magical powers. Reawakenings are immensely rare, and are mostly caused by extreme trauma. About 80% of people who've had reawakenings had them when becoming undead, and 15% were triggered by Near Death Experiences. Only an immensely small number of Reawakenings cause people to switch magic user type (i.e going from mage to adept or such)
• Owns and uses a fidget spinner. Also dabs and plays Fortnite.
  
• She's openly transgender. Thankfully, metal fans are rarely the kind of people who would misgender her.

In-Game Fighting Style

Maria fits the role of a Bard. Her basic attack is actually an area-of-effect ability that deals lower than normal attack damage to targets, but also heals demons and undead. It will never heal an enemy, or harm an ally though, but because of her unique basic attack, she can't even damage demons/undead with it! She has low health AND low damage, but focuses very strongly on buffing allies and debuffing enemies.

Her promotions are Heavy Metal and Death Metal. Heavy Metal gives her much stronger debuffs, while Death Metal gives her more damage and ally support.
