Bio

The eldest child of the Katagure family and the only quirkless member since her great, great grandfather. Hana has always had aspirations to write compelling stories and shed light on otherwise murky or hopeless situations. She suffers from self-inflicted pressures to succeed, and views the current state of her life as a personal failure.

While born in Hyōgo, the family makes a move to Osaka when Hana is ten, just before the birth of her baby sister, to pursue a business opportunity. Two years later her folks open a small dine-in restaurant near Dōtonbori; a converted two-floored home, the upper floor a cramped flat available for rent or airbnb's.

Hana spends her childhood learning the restaurant business with passing interest, choosing instead to pour her free time into writing and photography. She goes to school for journalism and manages to land an internship at a large newspaper. Spending nearly six years in the industry, she had hopes of becoming a field journalist- on the ground, coving stories from live hero battles to the nitty gritty underbelly of villain criminal rings. These dreams, however, are constantly crushed during her time at the paper. A competitive business, she time and time finds herself falling behind; left in the dust by reporters more cunning or connected. She begs for her chance to write a front page article and is met with empty promises for a "good led".

Disillusioned and fed up, Hana eventually quits- resolving in the moment to become a freelance journalist. Empowering as the thought may be, however, the decision to quit has left her in something of professionalism limbo. With a now much tighter life budget, she's forced to move out of her downtown flat and starts helping out at her family's restaurant to make a few extra bucks. Her parents offer her the space above the restaurant, and with an immense sense of pride lost Hana woefully accepts.

While grateful for her families help and support, she finds herself in a never ending quarter-life crisis. She's resorted to writing quick one off columns while struggling to complete more serious pieces independently. She frequents less savory parts of town in hopes of a scoop, unwilling to go crawling back to a job that- probably- wouldn't take her back anyways.

Quirk, Traits & Abilities
Quirk: n/a

Hana is quirkless; the struggle of a totally normal, mundane life in a sea actual super heroes. It's cool. No, really. Totally not bitter at all.

Trait: Eidetic Memory

Thought initially to be a defective quirk when she was a child. Hana's steel trap mind is likely thanks to strong genetics and the nature of her family's inherited quirk. Although not photographic, she can still retain visual information for an abnormal amount of time and relay said information with startling accuracy.

Triva

📝 Hana's parents and younger sister all have variations of the same quirk. Auditory memory: a quirk that allows the user to instantaneously memorize and retain information verbalized to them. Hana is the soul visual learner in a family of auditory learners. The struggle is real.

📝 Was vice president of the debate team in high school and a leading member of her college's weekly newspaper.

📝 Runs on a caffeine diet, borderline insomniac, eats a lot of microwave dinners despite living above an actual restaurant. Can make some mean takoyaki and yakitori. Hana's a more than capable chief, despite being too lazy to cook for herself.

📝 Has become somewhat disillusioned with heroes in general. Respects what they do, and by no means would call them unimportant, but at the same time, like... If she gets asked to write one more goddamn all might article, she might actually throw herself into the sun. She's much more interested in doing exposés on crime rings and villains than the sunny fluff of wholesome heroism.

📝 Her flat is decorated with a few very corny motivational posters. She has begged her parents to stop buying them for her but they outright refuse.

📝 Keeps a digital camera on her person at all times, as well as a pen and small digital recorder. Wears a satchel with 90% of her wardrobe choices, regardless if it clashes or not.

📝 has a pinterest board for aesthetic and clothing vibes.
