[fix later- this changed and isn't accurate anymore] Eyrophos was part of the same academy and was working with Swiftos' parents on a Specific Project but left after Swiftos' mom who should really have a name 'disappeared' and had an entailing venomous fallout with the other scholars, who were more than beginning to suspect that the strain of elder magic Eyrophos had been studying was beginning to mess with his mind. Which was, of course, all filthy rubbish, and to prove that it was, in fact, all filthy rubbish, he began on the very practical and sensible quest for revenge against the academy. Naturally, this involved making a deal with a demon, which should have been the easy part buuuut something went a little wrong with the summoning and the pact he created actually ended up being with a baby demon instead of like, not a baby. Which would have been preferable. However, Eyrophos was determined to continue anyway, even with the really annoying requirement that baby demon who needs a name would basically be living in his forehead because they want to see!!! the mortal world!!!!! and returned triumphantly to the academy only to find that..... everyone was already dead except for a teen named Swiftos. Hm.

He has yet to tell Swiftos that hey, he knows all about his parents, but he's sort of at a loss of what to do now and is vaguely mentoring him o the brief occasions when he's at the academy until he can find something else to get Righteous Revenge on so all the work he did over the past, like, decade and a half and whole pact with a demon thing won't have been for nothing. :/
