Johnathan 'John' Couture is the protagonist of my Miraculous Ladybug fanfic, Miraculous: Get me out of Here. He is also the Hawk Moth of an alternate timeline.

| John was born to a half English half-French woman named Laura Brodeur (although she had a different surname at the time) and a half-Maltese half-French man named Abbé Couture. John lived with his parents before they divorced (although they are still on good terms). Around two years later, Laura got married to a woman named Avril Brodeur, who had two twin daughters. John spends his weekdays at his mother's and sees his father on the weekend. | John is a very pessimistic person who very often tires of other people and the situations around him. He is introverted, preferring to spend time playing video games or knitting by himself than be with other people. He is pragmatic, honest, and direct, but doesn't like confrontation, unless he gets really angry. Despite his pragmatic nature, he keeps his knowledge about Ladybug and Chat Noir a secret, mainly due to his respect for their privacy (and also so villains don't come after him). Very occasionally, he does show a heroic side, and doesn't like innocents getting hurt. He also shows kindness from time to time, as well as empathy for those also affected by heroes. In the alternate timeline, he is shown to be sadistic and ruthless, not caring about others at all. |

| John gets on well with his mother for the most part. He does get annoyed by her constantly making him go out but does geninuely love her. She also seems to hold a lot of pride for him. | John and Abbé are fairly close, and Abbé greatly cares for his son. While he doesn't pressure him as much as his mother, he often tries to get his son to try new things. | John and Avril have a solid relationship. John admires and looks up to his step mother and Avril thinks highly of him in return. | John is Lucetta's older step-brother. He gets more annoyed with Lucetta than Mardi, due to her cunning personality. However, Lucetta will still turn to John for comfort if she feels scared. | John is Mardi's older step-brother. He often gets annoyed by her, but deep down he does care for her. Mardi cares for John in return, even though she likes to annoy him sometimes. She also clings to him if she feels scared. | John often gets annoyed by both Marinette and Adrien. He doesn't understand why no one recognises their hero forms. Despite his grievances, he does respect the two as heroes and does not reveal their secret identities. | Chloé and John are frenemies, often bickering when together. They do seem to somewhat care for each other, such as John going out of his way to help Chloé and she trusting him for advice. |
