Allen Linkin

Allen is unfortunate. No matter how far you go through his life and as often as things can seemingly look up, they constantly come crushing down trying to damage any strand of hope he may have left. His life sucks, it has it's ups but they never seem to stick and he lives in a constant balance of self loathing, mental turmoil, past trauma, sanity, and a stable life. He's a good kid in reality, but comes off extremely cold and irritated and he's honestly incredibly hard to tolerate being around. Once you get him to open up, he's the biggest dork, but often people don't tolerate sticking around him that long to get there (which is understandable).

He shows his affections passively, and those who have known him and gotten to his soft side often can't see why people would think he's angry or unapproachable until they end up seeing him confront someone else. He's often two sided, mostly as an ingrained defense mechanism. However, he often clings to people who show him warmth and affection, especially if they are persistent. He is also incredibly modest.

Allen goes through several phases in his life with how he handles social interactions. from being a child who never spoke to anyone out of sheer fear and anxiety, to an early teen who boasted on lying just to seem 'normal' and 'cool', to an adult who completely learned to isolate himself from even trying anymore.

Allen grew up in a small unincorporated part of a suburban neighborhood between two major cities. He grew up poor with parents who never expected to have another child and still didn't know how to take care of one. His father was held a constant resentment towards him and held his standards unreasonably high for how he wanted a son to be that Allen never met. As a kid he is extremely shy and terrified of messing up which results in him struggling to make friends. He has a poor immune system and could often get sick a lot. A lot of this lead to rumours around school and often got bullied no matter what he tried.

Alex was the tenacious kid who pushed to be friends with Allen despite him being extremely adamant thinking it was a trick. After so much unbiased kindness and asking Allen to hang out with him, Allen became attached fast. He later grew infatuated with his friend struggling with learning about his own sexuality, which he found to be another problem in who he was.
