Alex is endearing. He's happy-go-lucky and always seems to be in control of his life and situations. Seemingly always having options for how to approach situations. Ever since he was a kid, he's been studious, practiced good habits, worked on his people skills, and been open minded about absolutely everything. He's someone anyone can talk to, and even as a dorky kid, people loved him. He was a ray of sunshine who often forced himself into social situations and befriend everyone he could. Thanks from the help of his mom and the complex he developed from his shitty dad (who he promised he'd be better than). While he seems incredibly well on his shoulders, he doesn't really know how to handle stressful situations when it becomes overwhelming and his patience wears thin, making him rather aggressive and over reactive.
He's always been open to different people and ways of thinking and loves to talk and try to empathize with people to understand. He loves to help, he loves to talk, he loves to joke around and laugh at every shitty joke on the internet and relate to dog photos. He's incredibly easy to talk to, and people who are often cold to the idea, warm up fast to his casual and friendly way of speaking. He adapts to different people's personalities and responds rather well to how people act. Not being overbearing to introverts being an example. He's expressive, lacks shame/modesty, and has self confidence forced on himself and the skills to back it up.
Alex grew up in a small unincorporated part of a suburban neighborhood between two major cities. He lacked a lot of inhibitions growing up due to how he processed the world. It helped him make a ton of friends and to be the kid that did everything first while everyone held back self doubting. Breaking the ice is his favourite thing to do since he was a kid. He made goals to befriend everyone he could in elementary school and be a rowdy class clown. Befriending Allen when they were 8, while rumours surrounded Allen as the scape goat people could bully. He never quite understood why.
They became best friends really fast, doing everything together. Because of Allen's home life, he'd spend a lot of time over at Alex's and being able to experience things as a kid he never would have, which resulted in harder attachment. As they grew up Alex soon realized Allen is dependent on him and assumed it was a responsibility in some sense. He definitely considered him his best friend and enjoyed his company and interests, but his bad qualities he often excused by Alex. He enabled a lot of Allen's bad habits and reactions by accident, mostly thinking he'd get past it.
