Alive?

Whopper was a plushie before the island and a plushie after too. Not like that was their choice or something they had control over. One day they just.. woke up. They couldn't move or talk, but they were there, they could hear and see, and for the longest time that was all they had. They’d watch in silence the stories of multiple people, growing old and leaving them behind, until they were too old and broken to be wanted at all. They would have been destroyed completely if it wasn’t for the man that still saw some life in them, picked them from the trash and fixed them up, though their life after that wasn’t as easy either.

Nothing it’s easy for a plushie in the hands of a destructive kid. Whopper had no other option back then. Being ripped apart, put together, played with, ripped again, repeat. That’s all they knew, until they got snagged by shadows and brought to a completely different life.

Before they couldn’t move or talk, now they won’t shut up or stay still. They’re a little brat, they can be pretty rude to people they don't know, though it comes from a protective place. They are still very much attached to their purpose as a plushie though, and they act sweet and caring around people who need support or kids who need entertainment, that's always been their role, make people feel happy and safe.

They still like being a toy, they like being soft and getting hugs.. but they also hate it because a lot of people (especially adults) never really take them seriously.
