Currently there exist four phoenix' on Earth, originating with the Ziz (Dante). The Ziz is the only three of the mammoth creatures created for the apocalypse that can divide, and create others of his kind. The division comes at a price, creating a new phoenix, but taking pieces of the original fire bird with it. The occurrence is rare, with it only having happened twice in his long lifetime. First, it brought into existence a phoenix created from the darkest parts of humanity. Then, one of corruptible innocence. The fourth phoenix, an outlier, was born from demon magic. The three were born not knowing what they were, as it takes death to awaken the fire birds abilities.

Teddy is the second youngest of the four phoenix that exist on Earth. Originally quiet, and innocent, his connection with his 'brother', Dante, brought on the wrath of Kris. Jealous of the new phoenix, Kris set out to destroy him. Knowing the younger bird was in a vulnerable state, he made his first death both chaotic and painful, leaving him burnt and bleeding. Though he was inevitably found by Dante, Teddy succumbed to his injuries, and upon his return retained the burn scars that traced the entire length of his body on one side. Now his true self, with a bird form to rival his brothers, whatever Kris had done to him that day had proved damaging in more than one way. Mentally scarred, and physically incapable of creating the phoenix' signature fire, Teddy has become something of an outcast to the other birds. This isn't helped by his obsession with them, wanting to simply belong and find his place in the family.

After many years, his obsession with Kris in particular- the one who had 'created' him, made him the broken phoenix that he is- overshadowed any distaste for their past. Forgiving him, and craving his attention, he took up some of the older mans more unsavory hobbies...only to find, well, he enjoys it too.

Despite his in-depth history with the other three birds, he is currently dating outside of the group, his boyfriend being a kelpie name Liam.
