Ketch

Oblivious, overbearing, and dim-witted. Ketch has a knack for giving moronic first, and lasting impressions. Naïve rivals are quick to assume duels against Ketch will only last a few slings. Their assumption is usually correct, but not in the way they expect. Ketch's trusting and moronic nature seems to lull opponents into a false sense of victory, often leading to a clean defeat before his opponent has even slung their first slug. Rivals that manage to survive the surprise of Ketch's competency will quickly realise that the duel will need to be taken seriously. 

Don't let his slug-slinging skills fool you. Underneath what seems to be careful strategic planning is really just plain intuition; intuition that leads him astray in every other aspect of life. Ketch is full of poor planning and idiotic ideas, many of which he has enacted despite being repeatedly told that "he could die". Seriously, you can't leave this man alone, he will break something... or himself. 

Not all is bad! Despite ketch's idiotic tendencies he always means well. He is trusting, kind, and loyal, all in his own way. 

Ketch is a member of 'The Burning Syndicate', a group dedicated to the study of 'The Burning World' (The surface world). Although Ketch doesn't take the 'study' aspect of the group seriously (only Rat really does) he has recently become somewhat interested in surface world culture. He often pesters Cyprus, a human from the surface, about anything new he finds interesting.

Ketch became especially attached to the most recent member of the Burning Syndicate, Ramen. Even if he's not aware of his own feelings half the time, you can bet he's annoying Ramen every chance he gets.

Ketch previously lived with his two older siblings before moving in with Rat. They were twins with a strong rivalry, and Ketch was often caught in the middle. His siblings often participated in local slug-slinging tournaments, both aiming to become the next big name in slug-slinging, whilst competing ferociously against each other. Because they were so focused on each other, they failed to notice Ketch's natural talent and his climbing of the ranks. 

During an especially popular tournament, Ketch defeated both his siblings and placed within the top 3. The twins, who had previously though of their brother as inexperienced and oblivious, became bitter with the defeat. The two decided to cooperate with each other, something they had never, ever done before, and planned to remove Ketch from the picture. Both 'played nice', convincing him to leave the family home to go live with his friend Rat. (The move was somewhat non consensual on Rat's part, but Ketch was so adamant on staying that Rat begrudgingly agreed.) Ketch never noticed it was all just cunning and manipulation, he even thinks fondly of his siblings to this day. But rest assured! Ramen is there to swap passive aggressive glances every chance he gets.
