Mitch and his older brother moved to the states after their parents passed away in Australia. His older brother was supposed to take care of him.
Unfortunately, his brother was too stubborn to listen to any of the Golden Colubrids, and refused to turn the heat on in their apartment to try and keep costs down, unfortunately it didn't go well.

Mitch moved in with the Colubrids in '56 after he and his brother almost froze to death. He nearly died, Darry lost a finger to frostbite. He has a strong fear of going out in winter storms, and will only leave the tenement building during the winter if he's with another Colubrid such as Aaran. Where Aaran is the king of the cold, Mitch is the king of the heat. He can tolerate any heatwave without even breaking a sweat, whereas he shivers if the temperature outside drops below seventy. He has no cold tolerance.

He was given the nickname Koala (Drop Bear) for his favorite hobby, getting the jump on muggers by dropping on their backs from the rooftops he patrols. He makes quite a bit of money from rewards for saving people. The GC doesn't tolerate muggings in their territory, and Mitch takes that very seriously, patrolling the rooftops anytime he's not in school... except in the winter. Then he's 'hibernating' under thirty blankets with a cup of Coco.

Mitch is close with Aaran and Wooley, being very scared of the cold he feels much better with Aaran around. Aaran teases him for it of course. They're best friends and act like blood siblings most of the time.
Wooley was there when they found Mitch's brother, he's the comfort of the GC and has been nothing but kind to Mitch... he's also frequently seen patching up Mitch's arms after they get cut up by his targets knives.
