Menelaus is a natural-born leader, known to inspire others. He stands up firmly for what he believes in, unfaltering even when opposed. He is known to be a little too selfless, however, others often taking advantage of this. He also has difficulties expressing his emotions, bottling them up. They can be rude without meaning to, something that makes them hate themselves. As a teenager he has no manners and is often offensive to his elders, but as they grow up they learn to correct their behavior.
Story
Farm Life
Menelaus was born in Cyrodiil in a small farm town to two men, an Altmer (Enrionil) and Imperial (Vontich). He helped around his fathers' farm, mostly around the stables. He grew fond of the animals they had on their farm, mainly the horses and cows. He spent most of his childhood with his younger sister of 5 years, Calypso, who he often berated and bullied. He'd grow up to regret this, wishing he could've been a better role model for her. They both learned how to fight under Armsmaster Festil, a close friend of their fathers and an adventurer who lived in their town.
When Menelaus wasn't working in the stables, he'd hide away in his room and paint. Sometimes he'd go outside and paint the scenery, but often preferred drawing from his imagination. When they grew up and started exploring the lands beyond the town, they took joy in painting the various landscapes they'd come across, wanting to memorize them all.
Gaining Importance
Menelaus was always interested in politics, joining the Imperial Court as a minor member at 18. There, he befriended Ria Silmane and learned sorcery, which he incorporated into his swordsmanship he was taught growing up. Menelaus was always looked down upon by the other members of the Court, as he was very young and often times very rude and improper (having basically been raised in a barn).
Menelaus was sent to die in the Imperial Dungeons at age 19 after Jagar Tharn killed Ria, but managed to escape with her help from the afterlife. Over the course of ten years, Menelaus reassembled the Staff of Chaos, travelling all across Tamriel to do so, going into the depths of the Imperial Palace to face Tharn once and for all.
Aftermath
After saving Uriel Septim VII, Menelaus was appointed as the Eternal Champion and accepted back into the Imperial Court, but under a more prominent position closer to the emperor's side. Menelaus was now more respected, having matured and learned a lot over the course of his ten year journey. His sister, Calypso, soon joined the court too, as an agent sent on an important mission. She was presumed to have died after her mission, but Menelaus was the only one to know that this wasn't the case; she had just slipped away back to their hometown in the countryside, to live out the rest of her life peacefully, away from the public eye. Menelaus visited her and their fathers back at home numerous times between his busy work in the Imperial City.
Menelaus became particularly close to another Imperial Court member, Ocato. They bonded well and would often meet outside work. Soon they started going out and wed 2 years later, having two sons (Ocato being a trans man); Fasendil and Eumaeus, 1 year apart.
Menelaus oversaw the needs of the Empire for many years, but it is assumed he died during the Oblivion Crisis as his name is omitted from any writings of the 4th era. Ocato would soon die too, being assassinated in 4E 10. Their two children, having been born not long before the Crisis and both of their fathers' deaths, were raised mostly by their grandparents and Calypso in their small farm town.
