Marianette

Nervous is the first word that comes to most people’s minds when they first meet Marianette. Outside of work related conversations she tends to avoid eye contact and speak in a soft, shaky voice that’s almost more of a whisper. Coupled with this is the fact she tries to make her conversations go as swiftly as possible so that she can run away if the circumstances allow, though even trying to make them go quickly will often have small bumps of Maria apologizing when she gets the chance.

Maria always seems to think people have ulterior motives so she is hesitant with getting close to most people, preferring the company of Canochi and her siblings. However she is very lonely and does genuinely wish for more friends often torn between both thoughts which only lands her with even more anxieties. Alas due to her want for more friends, Maria is largely a doormat and is quite easily pushed around by others. She can be coaxed to do things and believe things that aren’t true with laughable ease. However in recent years Marianette has been able to relax and trust another person, Liara, enough the two have started dating. Liara acting as support in Maria's goal of standing up for herself more.

Born to Eden and Flora Cyril, Marianette was the youngest of their triplets. She grew up normally in Puppis with her sisters Angela and Aislinn, however unlike her two sisters she was often the victim of bullying due to her smaller size and stature causing her to lack trust in others. Her two sisters did their best to look out for her, often getting into trouble on her behalf. She came out as trans taking the name Marianette.

Despite her early struggles, Marianette seemed to grow into her own skin well. First happening to meet a woman named Liara, and after pushing through her worries the two eventually started dating. She was recongized for her writing talents and was even scouted by the one and only Dr. Pandora Borage. Who, once she became of age, set her up with her dream job as a journalist. Marianette always found some sort of odd comfort in the field due to seeing it as a way to prove that even in bad experiences they aren't all alone. This new job resulted in her moving away from her family and in with Liara.

Despite how good her life seemed to become, recently Marianette has seemed to grow more and more nervous. More on edge than ever. She refuses to say anything however as to why.

Ash is Marianette's eldest triplet sister. Despite the two being rather similar in personality and anxieties and them bonding thoroughly via her protectiveness when they were both young, they aren't as close as Maria and Angela are and haven't spoken much since her move, despite them living in the same town now that Ash is taking classes at Astrophel.

One of Maria's triplet sisters, the two are perhaps the closest of the triplets, Maria and Angela even staying in contact after Maria's move. Angela is still rather protective of Maria even all these years later. Angela was the first person Maria came out too when she realized she was a girl.

Liara is Marianette's girlfriend and closest companion. The two have been dating for some years now and currently live together. Despite how different they seem they bounce off each other well and Maria tries her best to be more brave for Liara, the two of them working on her struggles together.

Dr. Pandora Borage is currently Marianette's semi-mentor the two have a relatively healthy teacher-student friendship as far as most know and Pandora even assisted in getting Marianette her current job. However... Well, never mind. It's probably nothing.

• Like her sister, Angela, Marianette was inspired by several different characters from Pokemon Rejuvenation. In Marianette's case she is also named after a character from said game.
• Maria likes baking, she's not all that great at cooking however.
• Her name is a pun on the word "Marionette" or a puppet.
• Maria loves games like Harvest Moon/Story of Season and Animal Crossing.
