- Kiu loves to be by his trainer's side at all times. He refuses to ever go in a pokeball and will promptly smack one away if it is thrown at him.
- Playing catch is Kiu's favorite game.
- Although he takes a while to warm up to others, Kiu is very fond of his teammates and will do anything to protect them.
- Confoundingly, whenever Kiu blushes it shows up on his skull
- The "cheeks" of Kiu's skull sports a couple of tiny cracks in it.
- Kiu takes much pride in his skull and can often be found rubbing it against trees in an attempt to sharpen it
- Although he is not the highest level amongst his teammates, he is treated as the leader and is very respected.
