PERSONALITY

Outgoing, curious, and at times eccentric, Atticus is fairly likable and tends to make friends with ease. He finds people genuinely fascinating, and loves to pry. Usually, this translates to a genuine desire to get to know folks. Despite insistence to the contrary, Atticus is a people pleaser. He’s more than happy to saddle himself with the problems of others, often positioning himself as a confidant, and shoulder to lean on. He’s good at listening and quick to offer solutions, often getting too involved in the lives of others in order to help. His kindness and willingness to trust can help him connect with a variety of people. Sometimes, the wrong kind of people.

Atticus is terribly impulsive, which is an interesting and dangerous mix with his curiosity. Refusing to take himself too seriously, he fumbles through life with humor and compassion often failing to show himself the same patience he gives to others.

RELATIONSHIPS

MATTHEW VALEREZ | Best Friend. Matt is Atticus’s best friend and better half. The pair are inseparable and have been close since college. Atticus finds Matt grounding, consistent and reliable and trusts him with just about anything. He’s the first person Atticus goes to when he has a problem he can’t solve, or needs some opinions on a subject weighing on his mind. His adoration for Matt may not always be strictly platonic. But Matt always gets nervous whenever Atticus presses a little closer so, just being best friends works. Why risk messing things up if this is good? Right?

LAVINIA BATES | Ex..? Girlfriend. It’s probably a bad decision to date your boss, and it’s definitely a bad decision to date married woman who has a child. Unfortunately, Atticus makes a lot of bad decisions, though in his defense he only knew she was his boss when he signed up for this. And now he’s…really not sure what to do with himself.

ALEX CALDWELL | Twin Sister. Despite falling out of contact for over a decade, Atticus still cares deeply about his sister. He’s overjoyed when she reaches out to reconnect with him, and is eager to talk to her seperate from their overbearing parents.

ROBERT DENERON | Enemy. Robert is Lavinia’s husband. Atticus knows very little about the man but hates every single fact he’s gathered thus far. He has a lot of opinions about him, none of them positive.
