TRIVIA

Riff has ADHD, and an unspecified anger issue.
His favorite Minecraft block is soul sand.
Wishes to get on an anarchy server someday.
He has a dog named Dinnerbone!

PERSONALITY

Riff has a lot of bottled-up emotions. They're not angry all the time, but because they feel patronized a lot of the time, they tend to explode easily when provoked by the slightest thing. Even though they claim that playing frustrating video games tends to help take out their frustrations, but they usually just end up madder at them.

Riff does have a happy side to him, though - he loves to win, and he loves to hang out with his friends. He's even sentimental sometimes, especially to his dog, Dinnerbone.

DESIGN NOTES

Riff is short, 14, and full of rage.
That's... basically it.
They can be drawn w/ pretty much any Minecraft block or mob, though! They like TNT & creepers in particular.

BACKSTORY

Riff went through something that most kids his age would have considered a dream come true - one moment, he was playing Minecraft, like he regularly would, the next, he was in the bright sun, trees and grass around him, stone pick in his hands - he was inside the game.

The original wonder of it all wore off pretty soon. Riff learned that things they took for granted - falling from tall heights, fighting monsters, or even just walking past lava, hurt. Bad. Starting to get a little scared, they began to wonder - what would happen if they actually died here? Would they respawn, like they were so used to, or... not?

After what felt like almost a year of careful work and fearing for his life, Riff was able to make it to the end, slaying the ender dragon on his own for the very first time. After that, everything just... blacked out. And he was back, sitting at his computer screen, the clock on the wall only a minute past when he first left.

Even more upset than before, Riff was stuck with a story nobody else would ever believe, and no way to sort out the emotions they were still going through. Now they're mostly taking it out on all the different babysitters their mom has been hiring to look after them, but maybe with a little help, they'll be able to finally meet someone else who understands them.
