Pokeballs

Terms:
Capture Sequence: When a pokeball opens and attempts to digitize the target Pokemon for the purpose of capturing.

Can a Pokeball be Reused?
When a pokeball is thrown and misses so badly that the capture sequence does not occur the pokeball can be reused.

When a pokeball is thrown and the capture sequence occurs but fails to capture the Pokemon, the energy used to capture is expended and the ball is made inert. It can be returned to a pokeball factory for recycling.

Can Pokémon Switch Balls?
Different types of pokeballs work as they do in the games. This means some balls are better for capturing while others are better for raising. Once captured a Pokémon’s data can be transferred to a new ball allowing a trainer to use balls better suited for capture for catching Pokémon and then later transferring them to balls better suited for raising. Once used though a pokeball’s capture ability becomes inert and so transferring a Pokémon from a ultra ball to a luxury ball does not allow you to reuse the old ultra ball. You may also not transfer a pokemon to a ball who’s capture ability is inert.

Can You Decorate A Pokeball?
Yes. You can paint them, put stickers on them, draw stuff on them and so long as you don’t physically break the ball it still functions as normal. Many artists can be commissioned to personalize pokeballs.
