As a child, Storm was fairly soft-spoken and timid. Due to their upbringing and living situation before being sent to The Union, they were rarely expressive and had a tendency to internalize most if not all of their feelings. They had a hard time opening up with people they didn't know but warmed up to people the longer they stuck around. Over time, despite having known almost all of their colleagues for years, Storm became significantly more choosy with who they trust.
Being a normal human, they weren't an exceedingly strong kid. After the attempts and failures of a handful of strength-enhancing experiments they decided to (mentally) whip themselves into shape and become stronger so they could stand up for themselves and compete with other more monstrous Union members. Eventually they succeeded, though at the cost of most naivety and innocence they possessed.
