Alice is a magic teacher at Quartz's Institute of the Arcane in Edo'namel. Her no-nonsense approach does not make her popular with her students, but she just wants them to succeed. She is well-respected in her field, sometimes being invited to give lectures at other venues.
Not only is she a competent teacher, she is also a skilled magic user. When she is not grading her students' work or preparing lesson plans, she can be found practising spells in the training halls of the Institute.

Alice is strong willed, quietly confident and dependable. While she may seem harsh (many have have lamented getting her as a teacher), she just wants her students to achieve their best. She cares a lot for them, going out of her way to help them if they need it. She is quite perceptive and empathetic, able to pick up on a struggling student even if they do their best to hide it.
She is a big fan of order and becomes irritable if something does not go according to plan. Though she can come off cold, she actually does have a sense of humour; it's just awkward. She tries to stay current just so she can understand what her students are talking about. She does not have much of a life outside her job.
Alice is a very tall unicorn. So tall, in fact, that she's been described as a tower. Her light blue hair is swept to the side and rests over her shoulder. She has long, prominent eyelashes. Her horn has a gradient, from darker blue to light, and is sharp at the tip. Much like the hair on her long, thin tail, the fur on her fetlocks is curly and touches the floor.
Alice often wears blazers or other sharp professional clothing fit for an office worker. She wears her quartz brooch whenever she can. There is a certain elegance about her: she carries herself with grace and keeps a confident posture.

Alice grew up with a fascination and aptitude for magic. She was a quick study and with her devotion to the arcane it was not long before she gained a reputation among her peers for being the reclusive prodigy. She always resented that title for its implication; though magic came naturally to her, she worked hard to hone her talents. The 'reclusive' part however was not a lie. She was most often seen in the library or her room with her snout in a book and her horn alight with a spell.
Initially she wanted to be a researcher and never considered teaching until one day a fellow student came to her for help. Word of her tutoring was quick to spread and she soon found herself teaching her classmates at all hours of the day. She felt so fulfilled by this, and by finally getting to know the people around her, that she vowed to help every struggling student she met, and put herself on the path to becoming a magic teacher.
She landed a job as a teacher at the Institute of the Arcane, on the Isle of Quartz, in her twenties. There, she met many students, but one stuck out to her in particular. This struggling student had a bubbly personality and much promise, and Alice knew she could help her become something great... but it was not to be. The student left the school one day and never returned. Alice tried not to let it worry her, but to this day she wonders if that student is well, and if she was able to find her path without Alice's guidance.
Alice is currently teaching at Quartz's Institute of the Arcane, a magic school located on the Isle of Quartz. She has been invited to give a lecture at Drassilis, the city of the plantfolk known as Sectrodes. She hopes it'll be a quick stop, but she just knows fate has other plans. She can feel something brewing in Edo'namel...

Alice sees Sarinney as her greatest failure. Sarinney was the student who had trouble in class, yet had so much potential that Alice was desperate to unlock. Despite Sarinney's bounciness bordering on obnoxious at times (many times), Alice grew fond of the young, energetic girl under her tutelage. Yet Sarinney never blossomed in the end; she left the Institute one day and never came back. Alice blames herself for the girl's departure, thinking herself inadequate for not being able to help her. She hopes Sarinney is doing well, wherever she is.
