"Leave me alone -- I can handle this myself."Valerie has pyrokinesis, controlling fire with her mind. She is a great fighter, but is not great at controlling her powers. She practices and trains everyday to get a better grip on them. Though, she likes causing trouble with her powers and getting away with crimes.
She loves causing scenes and having grand displays of her powers. Her found-family, Klaus and her girlfriend Rome, is small, but she is fiercely devoted to them. She loves travelling and ocassionally meeting new people. Her distaste for heroes is strong; she thinks they are stuck-up and entitled. Valerie fights them to protect her family and her own dignity.

She is quick to snap and very passionate. Arson is her favorite pastime, and she always carries her trusty bat with her. Valerie can seem cold and uncaring, but she actually cares way too much. She hates being a burden or responsibility to people (as a result of her past), so she tends to be very self-directed and self-motivated. But, her personality can be a lot sometimes, as she tends to get overly stubborn or controlling about the little details.

Valerie is nimble and strong. She gets into fights a lot, but she can easily hold her ground. Her arms are strong from swinging her bat, and she walks quickly. Her resting face is very focused and angry, making her seem unapproachable.
A long strand of hair always covers her right eye. Her hair is usually down to her back, and she likes it messy, even in battle. She loves her punk clothes, especially her ripped tights and leather jacket. Valerie is almost always wearing a lot of eye makeup and dark red lipstick, along with shiny earrings or rings. Her clothes are always a little singed.

rome: girlfriend
Valerie saved her from her bad past, and Rome immediately became attached to her. They are very close and trusting of each other, and respect each other's boundaries. They aren't very good at resolving arguements, but they make sure not to argue a lot. Valerie loves Rome and just wants to protect her.
klaus: best friend
She met Klaus while hitchhiking across the country. They immediately became partners in crime (literally) and go everywhere together. They aren't great at planning, but they're great at getting out jams. Klaus is fiercely loyal to Valerie, and wants to keep him safe. He is like a brother to her.
jade: enemy
Valerie thought she could beat her easily, but she quickly learned Jade is a tough fighter. But, Jade still feared her, so Valerie used that to her advantage. During Dark Days, they teamed up and fought together.
jesse: enemy
She hated Jesse for hating Klaus so violently. Valerie had to actively protect Klaus from him, and she thought she was a lot better than him, but they are both hotheads. Their personalities always clashed until Dark Days, where they had a lot of arguments, but eventually realized they needed to be on the same side to prevent the group from falling apart.
kara: enemy
They are matched evenly with their powers. Valerie was a little taken aback when Kara could return each hit equally as hard, and worked to try to beat her, but she never could. They had the most powerful skirmishes during the original battles, but worked together as a duo in Dark Days. Even after the groups became friends, Valerie tried to open herself up with Kara and be friends, but Kara was still always a bit scared of her.
andrew: enemy
Valerie tries to keep her tough facade hard to see past, but she knows Andrew can see past it. He stays out of her way, but still attempts to get through to her. She pushes him out, but it makes her reflect a lot more than she used to. During Dark Days, she will occasionally go to him for advice, and accepts him as a friend.
