Noburu used to be a very proud, strong man, but over the years, he has let himself go. He has suffered  much over the years, but does not believe that he deserves any pity or sympathy because he feels guilty. He still comes off as extremely confident when interacting with people. Despite being a recluse, he constantly craves connection with people, but often pushes them away, but he does have a great way with words.

The RETIRED SAMURAI

Noburu is the senior member of the Gouda clan, a notable family with a long line of warriors from the Hikigaeru Village. He was an important figure in the war that swept the land in his younger days. His army days taught him many things and took many things from him, now he's not sure where his sympathies lie. Despite being such an impactful, strong hero in the war, however, he was not able to protect his home land from the repercussions of the war. Unfortunately, his town was wiped out, and along with it, much of his species. He failed to protect them, and therefore retired from his work as a warrior because of his failure. He's brought shame to his name and his clan by not ending his life upon his failure, but he was too scared. Over the last few decades, he has retreated and hid himself from the world for the most part. He's become known as a hermit, and the name of Gouda is not as remembered as it once was. Many who knew of him in his heyday have either perished in war or have forgotten him. Or so he wishes. He does not want to be remembered.
