Octavia is a prodigy musician. She's been incredibly talented from a young age, and has mastered dozens of instruments. Her parents always wanted her to go in to classical music and make a respectable career out of orchestral music, but Octavia has always, despite her outward appearance, been a huge metalhead. She ran away from home after her parents continued to pressure her into preforming music she did not like.  While she was incredibly musically talented, Octavia cannot sing to save her life. She sounds alright, but has a very weak voice and cannot project, so she struggled to make it on her own. She went for an audition to be a part of the band Rei and Mim were forming, and was the stand out candidate for her beauty and talent. All her life, she's had trouble with people taking her seriously for her art because of her looks, but Rei encouraged her to fully lean into her beauty as a source of power over her audience, and Mim encouraged her to take creative liberties with her music as she was by far the most talent instrumentalist of them. 

Their band had quickly risen in popularity and Octavia was just basking in the glory. While Rei and Mim were a married couple before meeting Octavia, Rei had told her they were in an open relationship, and the two had fooled around a few times. Considering how charismatic and flirtatious rei is, it seemed natural to think that he slept with a variety of people and that Mim condoned it. Octavia saw sexual intimacy as a tool to control people, so she thought that this was part of how rei had so many fans. However, this was reis first time sleeping with someone besides Mim since they had gotten married. After frankly disappointing sex, Octavia made no effort to either hide nor broadcast their now sexual relationship. Considering they made a habit of sleeping together, rei had assumed that they had mutual romantic feelings for each other, when it was just him. When Mim found out and nearly cancelled their tour, breaking up the band and divorcing rei, she found out they were NOT in an open relationship.

 Rei sought comfort in his relationship with Octavia, who was incredibly upset that she had actually been being used to cheat with and also bamboozled that rei actually thought they were dating. She made it a point to ruin Rei's career. She continued to gain popularity as a celebrity gossip headline and soon joined a new band where her popularity only increased from there. At some point she changed her image from a sweet proper girl to a more daring alternative style.
