Cinders is a feisty and charismatic feline who purposely distances herself from others. Being the sole survivor of a forest fire started by the demon Blaze, Cinders was seen as a “cursed child” due to the circumstances surrounding the incident. She was taken into the church by Alastair and reluctantly raised there by members of the staff. Most avoided her out of fear and she had a very distant upbringing with her caretakers. She spent her younger years constantly running around the church and getting as close to the church barriers as she could, hoping one day she would be able to travel past the border. During her teenage years, she met Frostbite for the first time. Frostbite soon became Cinders’ closest friend, despite others' disapproval. Cinders would always find ways to get the two of them in trouble which would result in them being reprimanded by Alastair directly. Frostbite became the first person Cinders felt like she could open herself up to, which led to them dating. As she got older, her frustrations with her confinement to the church only grew stronger, so she finally made plans to leave. She told Frostbite of her plans, but before she was able to convince her girlfriend to go with her, the two were suddenly being framed for the murder of a high-ranking official. This forced the two to leave their home for the first time as fugitives, thinking they were only running from the members of their church. When they first encountered Riptide, Cinders was very resistant to the idea of the angel joining them, but Frostbite was able to convince Cinders of Riptide’s value as a bodyguard for them. Cinders still remains skeptical of the angel, but is slowly warming up to them. When Pierce eventually joins the group, Cinders constantly quarrel with the other fire mage, but takes the opportunity to learn more about fire magic from him.
