ALISTAIR ROYAL

38 . he/him . bi

Co-leader of The Fallen Light, having created the group after defecting from the Star Runners - and the Grand Planets - with Krow

Stressed and tired, but has a heart of gold and always tries to keep the crew in a positive mindset by leading by example. He tends to be impulsive and would never hesitate to put himself in danger to protect his friends. He's normally very chill, but the stress will sometimes catch up to him and he's been known to lose his cool every now and then.

Event One

The year is 2582, and Bernhard Xenos, captaining the USS Bishop (a United States Spaceship), landed and began colonization on the planet Xenos. Over the next couple hundred years, Xenos grew into a large and populated planet, inspiring humanity to explore even further corners of the galaxy. Throughout many centuries, humanity began to discover new planets, new solar systems, and, most importantly, new species of varying levels of technology. Eventually, 4 central empires developed as people became less focused on individual planets and more focused on entire systems; The Grand Planets (GP), the Galaxy's System of Alliance (GSoA), the Imperial Territories (IT), and the Cosmic Nation (CN).

Each empire started off peacefully, but the peace did not last long. The GP declared war on the IT 3021; it began over a conflict of the planet Monument Prime, which was one of the largest habitable planets known to date. Monument Prime existed in Free Space (the wavering border between the four empires) - specifically, between the IT and the GP. For a long time, Monument Prime existed as a shared factionless planet. The GP started sending more and more soldiers, until tensions grew and a fight broke out. This fight turned into the War of Monument Prime; it started first as a warfield just on the land of Monument Prime, but soon grew until entire nearing planets became targets as well. Both empires refused to yield, and, to many, it seemed as though the war would continue until one empire lost all of their planets.

Event Two

The year is 3074. Like many, Alistair is drafted into the war at age 18. In training, he did well enough to be immediately sent into one of the large Grand Planets Galaxial Army (GPGA) fleets, where he and a small crew piloted one of many ships in the general army. In this position, he and the other crews fought in battles throughout space, usually targetting ship fleets of the IT. He destroyed countless ships, and participated in a few planetary attacks as well. In this time, he was promoted to captain of his ship, and then to leader of his fleet.

At age 31, Alistair was moved into the Star Runners, a smaller sector of the GPGA. The Star Runners were 52 ships split into 4 fleets (Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs), all of which were meant for stealthed attacks and reconnaissance missions. Alistair was Captain of the Spades crew, piloting the Ace of Spades. His deputy was Krow, a Strategic Prime Unit built to pilot ships and fight in the war. Together, Alistair and Krow led their crew in countless missions. Each one soured Alistair's view of his empire more and more as he was forced to loot cities, destroy camps, and kill both enemy soldiers and innocent civilians.

Event Three

The year is 3094, and, at age 38, Alistair has decided to defect. He tells Krow of his plan, and after their 7 years of bonding, Krow doesn't hesitate to join him. The two take the Ace of Spades ship, where they destroy the coms system and flee to Station X, a factionless station located in Free Space where the borders of the four empires meet. They hide here in secret for a few months, before decided to start up a factionless rebel group called The Fallen Light. They create The Fallen Light as a way to work towards protecting the people and ending the war, and as word of their cause starts to seep through Station X, a few members - including Laur - come to them asking to join.

Krow
Co-leader

Met Krow while piloting the King of Spades under Alistair's command. Defected with Krow and co-created The Fallen Light. They have a very inseperable bond and what Laur likes to describe as a "will-they won't-they thing."

Laur
Crewmate

Laur grew up on Station X and sought up Alistair and Krow after hearing about the creation of The Fallen Light. Alistair sometimes gets tired of Laur's constant pranks and joking around, but, for the most part, is one of the few team members to appreciate them for their lightheartedness.

Rowry
Crewmate

Alistair has no idea who Rowry is and doesn't even know what it is until Sybil joins and explains what bor-bors are. Nonetheless, Alistair would protect Rowry with his life.

Wycket Wyl
Crewmate

Wycket decided to join The Fallen Light rather than go with fellow survivors back to Station X when her planet was destroyed. Alistair was hesitant due to her young age, but allowed her to join regardless. He admires her for what she's accomplished, and does his best to make sure she still gets raised and treated properly despite being a kid.

Prince Sybil
Antagonist -> Crewmate

Met Sybil when fighting against him and his father. Alistair saw a bit of himself in Sybil, and had always been hopeful he'd be able to persuade the prince to switch sides. When Sybil defected from his empire, Alistair knew he had to let him join The Fallen Light because he knew how hard it was to defect.
