Profile

Dear student & family,

This letter is a formal announcement that you have been accepted to the upcoming term at Suisen Academy.  I would like to be the first to congratulate you on your achievement.

Students without a means to commute or are from overseas should contact the Dean of Student Housing immediately to make arrangements to live in the Academy dormitories. While the school is free to attend, students utilizing student housing will be expected to pay rent in time.

Included with this letter is your Electronic Student Identification Card (also known as ElectroiD). Use it as your identifcation to get onto school grounds, as well as the key that will unlock your locker, the credit card used to purchase items from the cafteria, school store, and vending machines, and the eReader to find assignments and the student handbook.
Please make sure to take care of your ElectroiD as there is a fee to decommision and replace lost ones.

We await to see you on the first of April.

SUMERAGI Akito
Principal of Suisen Academy

School Information

Suisen Academy is a top ranked public high school, well known for producing students who rank well in national exams and are accepted into prestigious universities around the world.

The Suisen Academy Swim Team is consistently one of the top 5 teams in the country, although it has only been in the top three twice.

Uniforms

Can be viewed modeled by yugami-kun at 水仙学園. (Still a huge WIP)

Main School Uniform

 &

Students wear a blue or off white colared shirt with a tie or bow around their neck. They have the choice to wear a vest or sweater over top of it, which has the school logo either sewn or pinned on.

Students are required to wear the plaid uniform pants or skirt. Yes, female students are allowed to wear pants and, conversely, male students can wear skirts if they prefer. There are occasionally events that request students to wear a specific uniform, but they are strictly voluntary.

The tie and ribbon colors denote class year. First years have a sky blue color, second eyars an "ocean" blue color, and third years a dark navy color.

Students are free to add pins, patches, scarves, etc. as they see fit, and are allowed to have some customization in their outfits, such as wearing leg warmers, dying their hair, and even jewelry. They must take off most of it when in certain classes (i.e. science, shop).

Various sports teams have uniforms as well.
I'm lazy so i won't design any until there's actual ocs for the team. Will have blue or yellow as the main colors

Location

Suisen Academy is located outside of the town of Ono, Fukushima along the Natusi River (wiki page on it) -- it's a 3hr train ride to Tokyo.
**This is open -- when I first designed Suisen, that was where the school was but totally open to moving if people are leery about RPing in the Fukushima prefecture. When I first got the idea for it, 3/11 hadn't happened yet

(insert more random information about the area)

Acceptance

As Suisen Academy is public high school it accepts only the best of students to enhance its own image. Students must rank within the top 50% on the national exams and then be in the top ranks on Suisen's entrance exams  or exhibit exemplemry aptitude at certain things to be accepted. Due to the "Act on Free Tuition Fee at Public High Schools and High School Enrollment Support Fund", Suisen is free to attend. However, if students decide to live in school funded housing, they must still pay rent.

Foreign Students

The Academy has a larger than average foreign student ratio as part of a program to introduce the world to its students and its students to the world. To be considere, applying students must be nationally ranked through some test (such as the PSATs and SATs), display aptitude in some skill that would enrich life at Suisen, and have at least a junior high school level understanding of Japanese. Students who have the aptitude, but not the ncessary skill of the Japanese language are still accepted, but those students have extra mandatory Japanese language classes until their ability to speak and read the language is at an acceptable level.

Campus

Suisen Academy, as mentioned perviously, is located on the outskirts of the town of Ono and is about a 15 minute walk from Natsui Station and a seven minute walk from Onoiimachi Station.

The main building is four stories tall with two wings surrounding the center.
The center houses all the main classrooms -- first years on floor 1, second years on floor 2, third years on floor 3, and the ground floor made up mostly of student lockers and the main teachers' office, where you can find teachers during the school day when they are not teaching.
The west wing is comprised of the gym (which doubles as the auditorium) and indoor pool on the first floor (which replaces the ground and first level) and the second and third levels made up of offices and club rooms.
The east wing is comprised mostly of the two kitchens and cafteria on the ground floor, science labs on the second, and the third and fourth floors dominated by offices and club rooms. The dean's office and student council office is located on the fourth and third floor respectively.

The rooftop, although restricted, is accessible from one of five stair cases -- one in the west wing, and two each in the center and east wings.

Behind the school is the track and field, and slightly to the west is the football field. On the east side is a baseball diamond. Dotted around are the small club buildings used by other sports teams (such as archery, kendo, judo, and bicycle teams).
The campus as a whole is fairly green, with lots of camelia, pine, and sakura dotting around.

To accomdate students who live farther away or are from overseas, Suisen has 5 two-story dorms affiliated on campus (two on campus, three in town) that students can rent at a set amount. On campus you have a female and male dorm, while one in town are co-ed. Students are expected to share dorm rooms with one or two other students. Pets are not allowed except in the Mizukin dorm in town. (That certainly doesn't stop every student from trying though.)

Dorms

水水 (Mizukura) -- The off campus female dorm. It has 6 double and 6 triple rooms for students and one room for a faculty manager.
水火 (Suika) -- The female dorm on campus, that is clustered beside flowering trees. It has 4 double and 8 triple rooms for students.
水木 (Mizuki) -- The male dorm off campus. It's beside a combini. It has a resident manager, along with 6 doubles and 6 triple rooms.
水土 (Suido) -- The male dorm on campus, it is rather close to the Bicycle Club building. It has 4 double rooms, 8 triple rooms, and a room reserved for the resident manager.
水金 (Mizukin) -- The best furnished dorm, Mizukin has 5 single rooms (one of which is reserved for the resident manager) and 8 doubles. This is the only co-ed dorm employed by Suisen, but only has single gender rooms.

School Rules

Suisei Academy requires all students to have their ElectroiD on their persons at all times during the school day and at school events. Sharing your ElectroiD to other persons is prohibited.

Students are required to wear their school uniforms. However, Suisei's administration allows a certain amount of customization to this, as students can choose to wear accessories. Students are also allowed to have dyed hair and piercings so long as they do not provide a major distraction in classes.

Students must be in their classrooms no later than 8:35am.

Students may not be on campus before 6am and no later than 8pm due to club activities. This requirement is waived for students who live on campus (although some parts of the school is closed later in the day) and during certain events.

Students must join an extracurriculur activity. Exceptions might be made on a case by case basis.
It is generally frowned upon to join multiple school clubs, with the exception of the broadcasting and newspaper clubs, which has a stable of "roaming members" who are essentially beat reporters attached to a secondary club.

Smoking and alcohol is not allowed on campus for any reason, or off campus at any shcool sponsored events. Students caught engaging in such activites will find themselves being reprimeneded with detention.

Character Rules

All students at Suisei Academy must appear human (but not necessarily be human!).

I'm pretty lax -- so long as the character sort of looks high school aged (or not in the case of teachers) I'm totally fine. You can submit gijinka or kemonomimi so long as you make a note of it on the Student Roster

Roleplay Rules

All roleplays must be SFW -- you can roleplay NSFW events, but please do so offsite or via messages. You may link the resulting roleplay but make sure there is a clear NSFW warning, with a list of what makes it NSFW.

No godmoding.

Each character can only be in one logical place at a time, i.e. if one thread is happening "just after school Tuesday", they can not

Each roleplay thread should be posted in the correct RP area.
The OP should list which characters are involved (or say Open to All if anyone can join in), the general "rating" of the thread, and a brief synopsis of where/when this is happening (i.e., "Saturday Morning before classes)

Roleplaying classes seems kind of tedious to me. You can if you want to though!

Occasionally there will be "Mod Events" which are generally mandatory school events (like pep ralleys and ceremonies and festivals). Your character doesn't have to go, but them skivving off might get mentioned by a teacher later!

It's a pretty open RP. I'll say a "month" of RL time is a week in game, give or take. So the month of December corresponds to the first week of classes, where the various characters get to meet each other and explore the clubs!

Don't be a douchecanoe.

Seriously just... common sense.

Student Council

The elected body that represents student interests at Suisen Academy.

Each class has at least one representative on the council (often chosen through jankenpon if no one volunteers) who is expected to go to council meetings weekly.

Newspaper Club

Writes and prints "Suisen Wave", the school newspaper which prints bi-weekly. It balances the thin line between being a gossip rag and a legitimate newspaper.

Several years ago, there was a separate photography club, but it has since been incorpoated into the newspaper club. There's always a four page spread entitled "Around Campus", which features some of the best images taken over the past two weeks. They photography team also produces two magazines of photographs.

Allows non member submissions.

School Idol Club

A club that's centered around singing, dancing, and learning to become an idol. This is also the group students sign up for if they are applying to become members or trainees of nationally known groups such as AKB48, so despite the large number of people who are listed as members, not all of them show up to meetings.

(Don't tell the administration, but it's also well known as a going home club or an idol fan group, which wasn't its intention)

Today, Suisen's School Idol club manages three idol units that competes nationally in a high school idol competition. These units are ♠♠♠, ♣♣♣, and ♦♦♦ -- they occasionally do work together under the unit name ♥♥♥.

A club where students can talk about and learn from anime and manga, as well as produce their own doujin under the circle name "DAFfodil".

Currently, activities are suspended due to lack of members. During the club festival, Maeda-kun is going to be desperately recruiting so the club can continue with funding without any hitches.

Outside of the teacher's offices, there is a a hanging document box with two sections -- one filled with a sheaf of printed papers, and another labeled "Return". If you want to create a new club at Suisei, this is the approval process to do so. It's a full sheet of paper, with the first half explaining the form below. Students are encouraged to add more paper if their charter proves longer than the space alloted.

Club Name:

Club Advisor:

Club Members: (at least 5, one of which must be the president, secretary, and treasurer)

Club Charter: (what the club wants to accomplish and do)

Out of Character Information: You can create NPCs for advisors and at most 3 club members. Once completed, please post the form here.
