About

Clymene was a child actor growing up, but the lifestyle and workplace abuse she endured gave her a deeply dysfunctional relationship to her work, to herself, and to others. Now she uses her beautiful singing voice to do songs and concerts for a virtual idol who is maintained for her by a manager. Because she's able to work remotely and anonymously, this suits her more than being at the forefront of a project, yet despite her lack of obvious ties to the project, there's still a subset of old fans who recognize it as her work and continue obsess over her. In an attempt to get away from stalkers, she moved down into the Coral Sea Vivariums and changed her name. She's trying to live a simpler life now, though she often yearns for a change of scenery.

Clymene finds it extremely difficult to trust anyone. Though she is friendly and chatty on the surface, she tends to carry conversations with others as if she's being forced to do it against her will. She's used to putting on faces and faking enthusiasm, so it's hard to tell how she really feels about anything. Although many might find her cloying and unpleasant, she is a fairly powerful water spirit, and her voice has a charming effect on people. It's hard not to be lulled into a state of vulnerability around her. It's just a shame her voice can't have this same effect on her, too.

Her sense of self-preservation is low, and when you really dig into this, it becomes clear that she just doesn't hold her own wellbeing in particularly high regard. Or rather, maybe, she just expects that bad things are going to continue to happen to her no matter what she does, so she's resigned herself to it.

All of Clymene's dysfunctional mindsets aside, she knows a lot and has experienced many different things, so she always has something interesting to say. She's an engaging conversationalist and commands a calm, mature, authoritative tone.
