Mordecae's Links
Having spent time working in a brothel, Mordy is used to people always wanting something from him. That's why he has taken a liking to Hideo, who wanted absolutely nothing to do with him the moment he revealed himself as a bard. The rogue's blunt disgust was honest and genuine, something Mordy could appreciate. Hideo's avoidance is rather refreshing and comical, which only prompts Mordy to further push buttons in hopes of setting off a mental bomb to the rogue's calm exterior. The teasing aside, Mordy appreciates Hideo's competency in his many skills in and out of combat.
With Hideo's dislike for magic and bards specifically, he and Mordecae were never going to get off on the right foot. Mordecae, however, did everything in his power to ensure they absolutely wouldn’t. Ever since they met, Mordecae’s bullying has been a constant in Hideo’s life. Hideo is unsure of how to deal with it, as before he was usually the one causing mischief to get attention. Mordecae is giving Hideo a taste of his own medicine… At the very least, there’s always something interesting going on with Mordecae around, but Hideo would never admit to feeling that way.
Eventhough they haven't known each other for very long, Jolene has proven herself to be a valuable ally to have on their side. Mordy is very impressed with her gunmanship, something he hasn't seen a lot of before meeting her. Jolene's altruistic behaviour is very puzzling to Mordy, who grew up in a dog eats dog environment. Alongside her celestial appearance, Jolene carries a sense of justice which both have an intimidating effect on Mordy. Wether it be conscious or unconscious, their differences keeps Mordy at a comfortable distance.
Jolene believes that everyone who is willing has the capability to do good, Mordecae being no exception to this rule. That said, she has a hard time understanding him most of the time. She doesn't really understand his need to talk and charm his way through situations when one can just take action and get things done with and on the right path fast and easy. That said, she does not mistrust him, she just wants to understand his way of thinking a bit better- even if right now she's too naive to get any of it. She hopes that, for now, just being herself and doing her best to be kind will get her there.
