About

TL;DR: Josh was once a human, but was faced with an unfortunate curse and was turned into a dragon. Wearing a cloak, he searches for ways to regain his humanity.

In his youthful years, Josh had served as a protector for a small farming community in western Eitor. ...And, he was a farmer himself. Ever since he was a kid, he's always had a knack for combat. The community was occasionally attacked by rampaging dragons or passing bandits, yet with mere farming tools Josh had managed to hold his ground and fend all of them off. His victories were usually narrow, as he'd barely be standing and plenty of the village would be damaged. He still felt damn proud of himself either way, and actually started to grow habits of randomly challenging dragons for the hell of it, which the community didn't quite approve of. As the attacks worsened, there came a point in time where the community figured that they couldn't continue living like this and all agreed to make a move to the biggest and safest village around, Cantus Corum. Josh knew he'd be put out of his favorite job, so he was moderately disappointed by this. Before the move had begun, he went out to try and battle one last dragon to burn off stress. Not a very good coping mechanism... He found his next target in a peculiar, dense orchard composed of trees bearing blue fruit shaped like eighth notes.

As he went deeper into this orchard, the environments lightning seemed to be... Randomly darkening. As if someone were lowering a dimmable light switch. The trees remained perfectly visible on the other hand. He continued onwards until he was surrounded by pitch black. Where then, despite the darkness, he could clearly make out the shape of a blue winged serpent slithering throughout the environment. He called out to it, and in response it had vanished... Then it had reappeared behind him and recited something under its breath before flapping a wing towards him, sending him out of the orchard with a chill down his spine. He wasn't quite sure what had happened, but figured he was out of free time and reluctantly returned to his community to begin the move. This move would be done through covered wagons, or carriages.

During the night in a storm, while they were in the middle of their travels to Cantus Corum, something unfortunate had happened to Josh. With one bolt of lightning illuminating the darkness of the night, had they seen Josh's position. He looked just fine, in his usual position. Once the light died down, they were consumed by darkness again, unable to spot each other. Suddenly, a loud "SNAP" was heard, followed by the cries of the animals moving his wagon. Another lightning bolt struck, and there they saw a massive dragon sitting on the crushed wagon Josh was once in, with the animals moving it quickly fleeing the scene. Once the darkness had returned, screams of fear were heard followed by the emotional roars and cries of this dragon. They presumed that Josh was dead, and quickly left the scene. However, they didn't realize that this dragon WAS Josh. Filled with countless painful emotions, he had went on a rampage. Confusion from this transformation, fear for what's to come, and anger for easily being ditched. He wasn't able to bear it. Hours later after his tantrum was done and the storm had quelled. Through the smell of the rain, he had began to pick up the feint scents of his family and started to try and track them down with the last bit of flaming rage he had in his heart. However, a certain plush dragon named Máo had ran into him and knew that something was wrong. Josh was easily neutralized by Máo and set to sleep

Josh had woken up in a cozy, plushie filled cave in his neutral/anthropomorphic form and was covered in a black sheet. He surprisingly didn't have an outburst seeing that he was a dragon, but was certainly confused until Máo had greeted him in his awakening. Josh claimed to have remembered nothing from in between 10 minutes before the transformation, only remembering nearly falling asleep because he was tired. Máo presumed that this was a curse and asked him a couple of questions about what could've caused it, and they rooted all of it down to one dragon: Loria. Josh was already about to head out to track down Loria or a cure, but beforehand Máo had handed him his signature cloak. This keeps him in his stable condition. Sadly for Josh, he had no idea where this cave was exactly located on Eitor and neither did Máo, so it'd be difficult. And with that began the massive stretch of his journey.

Hes spent years training, gathering weapons, and going on quests for gains and hopes of purification. He has grown so much that he's become regarded as a famous mercenary. On the other hand, he loves selling his useless weapons for high prices, so he's also known as a scammer. He eventually settled down in eastern Eitor, where rich and wise dragons reside, and made himself a little farm. He decided to rebrand himself as "Anonymo," fully leaving his previous life behind. With every time he thinks he finds a cure, the curse only worsens, and that enchanted artifact weakens. Will he ever lift it?

Personality

Constantly in between being a stable human and a scatterbrained, rampaging dragon, Josh's personality can be erratic and his mood is like a roller coaster. However, his feelings of pride and confidence usually stick with him. He tends to put on a cold, neutral demeanor and speaks in a monotone voice as he thinks it makes him sound cool. However, when faced with any moderate conveniences, he can lose his cool quickly. Under pressure, he will start to yell and gains a bit of a southern accent. Or would it technically be an western accent in this world? Not only is he a poor communicator in general, but because he's constantly battling for his train of thought, he has trouble on deciding what to say when speaking to someone or just straight up forgets what he was going to say, which is why he's always trailing off in the middle of his sentences. Also, don't comment on his size.

He rarely gets any friends due to his personality, but he's incredibly loyal to whatever friends he gets.

Because Josh always thinks he's the coolest kid on the block, he usually gets in over his head and avoids working with others

Josh is very disgusted by his dragon side, shown by him constantly trying to wash himself and avoiding most discussion about him being a dragon. He hates bad smells unlike his species, and avoids them the best he can.

Josh has not completely forgotten about farming, and enjoys doing it as a pastime. He's very passionate about his crops.

On his side-job as a shady merchant, he's not too much of a bright convincer and makes it far too obvious due to his lack of personality. He tends to rely on scamming, thieving, and swindling to get what he wants.

He very much enjoys his work as a mercenary and is unsurprisingly proud of it, but he's also cautious about what his job is. Despite being a mercenary, he shows some very slight hints of moral and doesn't usually take money as a payment method. He prefers to work for those who promise they know how to remove his curse, or anyone with seeds for crops he doesn't have yet. When working for money or seeds, he considers whether what he's doing will cause more good then harm. However, when promised a cure to his curse, he will do literally anything. For this, he can be easily exploited.

In the heat of battle, he seems like the type to charge in head first, but he's actually fairly careful most of the time. He'll usually spend a fair amount of time analyzing his opponent before determining how he should handle them, usually going for unfair and underhanded methods. He almost never runs from a fight, unless it's either a waste of time or he knows he'll die. Then again, don't forget about his erratic mood, so his entire strategy can change. Sometimes he won't be in the mood to battle at all. Since it takes a lot of brainpower to stay afloat during a battle, he can easily lose his focus by an interruption due to stench dragon stupidity.

He also seems to hate dogs, birds, and magic. The magic part makes sense, though.

Weapons, skills, abilities, etc.

Josh has always been a capable fighter, dirty methods or not. The fact that he's been able to down entire beasts with farming tools as a kid should speak on its own. In recent times ever since his transformation, he's been far more determined to train and has picked up some skills and abilities like confounding speed and reflexes, but no real powers. He compensates for this by using many weapons and tools. Up close he can be a highly formidable foe, able to effortlessly evade many attacks, but his concentration on the battle can easily be broken by a distraction. Due to his inconsistent personality, how well he battles can vary. Some days he'll be completely out of it. He rarely uses his stench dragon abilities... at least on purpose.

Incredible speed- Josh can move incredibly fast if desired, to the point to where it looks like he's teleporting.

Quick reflexes- Josh has gained incredible reflexes over the years. These enable him to predict and easily avoid many incoming attacks.

Strong jaw- As a dragon, Josh has an incredible bite. His bite at full force can easily crush steel.

Keen sense of smell- Josh had developed a powerful sense of smell after his transformation. He can track people down through the most stale scents, and can people or smell food sources from miles on end.

Sweat/Musk generation- Josh can secrete a foul smelling liquid similar to sweat from his underside and the palm of his hands, in which he can rub off on someone and something to hunt them later. It's incredibly difficult to wash off and leaves him smelling awful, so he rarely uses it.

Tail Storage- Josh can consume food or objects, then store them in his tail. When he needs them, he can regurgitate them. ....Gross. It has a surprisingly high limit.

Combat experience- He's been fighting ever since he was a kid, so he unsurprisingly excels in combat. He has techniques that can take years to master.

Weapon mastery- Josh has shown incredible experience with many tools and weapons. He could be considered a Jack of All Trades.

Stealth- He's gained the skill to move silently and undetected by many from his work as a mercenary.

Swift swimmer- Josh is weirdly enough, incredibly great at swimming. Especially through murky water.

Agricultural knowledge- He's a farmer, so he knows a lot about... You know.

Screech- He can screch. LOUD.

Josh's cloak- His iconic cloak, he never takes this off as he'd go full rampaging dragon without it, and he thinks he looks ugly as a dragon. The red object on the cloak is what stabilizes the curse, as it's a magic object, so if it were ever broken/cracked he'd become dragon too. It can slowly self repair itself. The cloak also has some hammerspace, as Josh is somehow able to carry countless objects in it, some way bigger than he is. The cloak is also impressively durable, as its survived a lot.

The WuffleWhenever Josh isn't using random farming tools and daggers, this is his primary weapon. A demonic, sentient sword that gets the job done.

Tesseracts- The iconic and confusing tool of G.E.O., anyone affiliated with the organization has these on hand. They're hand held cube shaped objects that are able to capture and contain magic and objects. When they're shattered or prompted to release, they can send out said magic and objects. These are very powerful tools that many have trouble understanding. Josh uses this to steal magic.

Design notes: His horns can appear to be straightened, but curvy is preferred. If his hands are revealed, they can either be human-like or like the hand in the top-right cornerhere. His feet can also look like the ones in the reference. If his belly were revealed, it'd appear to be smooth and the color of the underside of his tail. I'd imagine his limbs being skinny. His eyes can be portrayed as a yellow glow. This is just a portrayal of his neutral appearance that he's usually seen in. There's also his feral form..25865630_tlFomzONbONuPpC.pngTrivia

Height and age are in the same spot cause I don't know how to use html lmao

Josh got his name because... I thought of drake dragons. Then I thought of Drake and Josh. Then I named him Josh. Dumb, I know lmao.

While he was designed by Laguzakete, I was previously going to have him designed by a friend on Discord, until they became unavailable.

Josh's original character idea involved him being some sort of chill magic mentor with a yo-yo constantly on hand. I have no idea what happened to that idea, but I might use it on another character.

There's running gag on roleplays I do with him involving him challenging, threatening, or charging at a dragon much stronger than him, only to get immediately annihilated by some sort of breath attack afterwards.

Some of his character details remind me of Eda from the owl house and I dunno how to feel about that.
