Thomas Morgenroth

(Story starting Oct. 2019)

A young man who moved into a haunted mansion. Usually scared of his own shadow, he finds the ghost hardly as scary as most of the things he has to face during the day, and quickly befriends the eccentric Albert.

Thomas suffers from massive anxiety attacks, social anxiety, a heart condition and several other, mostly psychological problems. He has most of them under control most of the time and could be proud of living his own life as well as he does, but still feels weak and insufficient because of how much everyone sees him struggle to accomplish the most simple things. Thomas lives alone, having just moved back from the US to live in Germany, where he grew up as a child, and study medcine at a big University. If possible, he'd like to become a trauma surgeon, but he's eyeing forensics as an alternative, should handling live people on a daily basis prove to difficult.

Thomas is prone to jump at any trigger due to his hypersensitivity, but is only truly scared of people, especially if he has to talk and socialize with strangers. Can't stand being touched and suffers from both stuttering and selective mutism.

Over time, and through his relationship with Albert, he learns to accept and even like himself, slowly building a little confidence despite of how much help he still needs.

With more time, he may even grow some confidence.

He got married to Albert (2022/02/22) and is currently fostering his Cousin, Mia (born 2019/01/21, with them since 2022/05/18). Thomas has serious difficulties with Mia, but tries his best to provide for her or at least not hinder Albert. Thomas is absolutely the strict parent.

Mood/Hobbies:

(2019) Usually timid and avoidant. Thomas loves to read, watch TV or play video games. With animal assistance or friendly company, he also enjoys going outside, mosly just walks or beginner level hikes. 

(2020) He also picked up horse riding and dancing (walz). All of that in moderation, as he gets tired really fast unless highly stimulated or panicked.

(2023) Thomas has gotten much more confident and may rarely be found at parties, usually hidden in a corner or safe zone. He's pretty good at riding now and got into jumping.

Clothes:

(2019) Loose fitting and comfortable. Muted colors, soft materials. Owns and wears a lot of Pullovers and cardigans knit by his Grandma, who makes the wool herself. With Albert being mostly naked at home, Thomas picked up the habit of wearing only nightshirts at home (knee-lenght in the summer, full-lenght in the winter); His hair is an overgrown mess that gets trimmed maybe once a year; It's always long enough to hide his face, but may be trimmed in the back.

When dancing with Albert, he wears either his old Prom suit (embarassingly purple),

(2020) after his weight gain, his summer fashion improoved a bit (Jasmin took him shopping and found some nice outfits he didn't reject). Since Albert chooses his outfits for him, they actually match nicely, too. When dancing with Albert, he now wears a new, dark grey Suit he actually likes.

(2022) Spurred on by friends, Thomas got back into goth/emo fashion and feels a lot more comfortable with his appearance. Still shy and timid, but at least presentable. His hair is also much longer now, and gender norms are no longer a hindrance.

He wears a diamond Ring on his right hand and a simple wedding ring on his left. Also, there is a charm bracelet on his right wrist.
