Born of a human mother and a ████████ father, he was born human with initially dormant ████████ genes. ████████ traits present in his human form:

• transparent third eyelids
• little to no body hair beside the head
• slightly bigger lungs
• slightly thicker skin
• longer canines
• naturally black nails (although ████████ don't have nails?)

His father disappeared shortly after his birth and is assumed to have either died or got captured. His dad was very secretive regarding his species. That combined with his early disappearance Buddy is left totally in the dark as to what he is, not even knowing the name of his paternal species.

While his mom pretty much lost all hope, buddy still dream about the very little chance he might finally see his father once one day.

Unlike his father he cannot shapeshift freely, he needs to be wearing his green ribbon. That ribbon was initially made for his mother to grant her the ability to be able to temporarily grow gills (1 hour max per use). She passed it down to him when he was 17. Due to being half ████████ he is not constrained by the 1 hour time limit and can shift more than just gills.

He actually hate fully shifting and will instead only shift in his tail when he goes swimming. Due to the tail size he swims naked as no swim-trunks fits. Him and his mom are currently working on sewing a custom suit for him.

Is identity discovery was closely linked to his ████████ heritage. Being able to switch forms and remodel his body dragged him into a spiral of what-ifs that guided him to the fated "what if i could turn into a man" question.

His mother was and is very supportive of him, helping him both understand his trans self and his ████████ self that form the core of his identity. She even paid for most of his medical bill relating to transitioning as solid proof of support.
