Ashley is cheerful, helpful, and generally a joy to be around. Her patience and enthusiam for life both appear to be boundless. Ashley is a born-and-bred Hawaii girl. She loves everything about her environment--the warm sun, the clear water, and, best of all, the artistic inspiration that the landscape provides. Ashley works part-time as a freelance tattoo artist, but her true passion is her job as an elementary art school teacher. Whether helping to realize customers' visions for their own body modifications or teaching little ones about primary colors, Ashley lives to be creative!
James is Ashley's boyfriend, and the pair met at a school board meeting for the district they both teach in. He appears to be quite different from Ashley--he is stern, solemn, and suspicious of others. However, meeting Ashley has warmed his heart, and his sensitive side now comes out more often. Ashley showers her guy with affection, and it seems to be doing him a world of good.
Astrid is the music teacher in the elementary school where Ashley works, and thus the two became acquainted. They befriended one another quickly--Astrid was a tad shy at first, as she often is, but Ashley soon won her over. Astrid may seem like a wallflower, but is in fact a vibrant woman who loves both music and her friends wholeheartedly. Ashley delights in spending time with Astrid, with the two helping to enrich one another through their respective expertise in the arts.
Conchita is Astrid's girlfriend, and Astrid introduced her to Ashley. Ashley enjoyed Conchita's presence off the bat--Conchita is full of energy, musically talented, and cheerful, all qualities that appeal to Ashley. In turn, Conchita gets a kick out of Ashley's enthusiastic approach to life. The pair now often enjoy exchanging their thoughts on each other's artistic pursuits.
Natisha is one of Ashley's best friend Astrid's younger sisters, and thus the two have become acquainted. Natisha is shy and dreamy, but also smart as a whip, which Ashley picked up on quickly. Ashley feels protective towards Natisha, and jokingly refers to herself as Natisha's "deputy big sister." Natisha enjoys Ashley's company, as well--she feels more confident in Ashely's presence.
Violetta is Astrid's other younger sister, and so she introduced her to Ashley. Right away, Ashley came to enjoy Violetta's verve and devil-may-care attitude! Violetta likes Ashley a great deal as well, but worries that she wears rose-colored glasses too often, and so she tries to inject some reality into Ashley's day-to-day life. Ashley appreciates Violetta's efforts, although she feels that Violetta could benefit from letting her head drift into the clouds from time to time.
